I'm Not The Only One Writing Prompt #BehindTheBlogger

I'm Not The Only One.
I'm Not The Only Child in my family, I'm not the only girl, I am not even the only one to get married. However I am the only me!
When I saw this prompt I also thought about my favorite television series ever, Highlander! There can be only one! It is a rule. One immortal to rule them all. As the series go one we see that even Connor gets killed by Duncan, to destroy a greater evil.

Connor started out in the movie Highlander. In the first episode of the series Connor jokes that he is of the same clan as Duncan, but a different vintage. The Highlander Franchise goes in a certain order and eventually ends with Duncan and Highlander The Source which totally changed the meaning of the prize and what there can only be one of.

There is only one me and only one you! So Enjoy the rest of your summer and do what you enjoy the most! Even if it is watching the original Highlander 2... With the aliens.... Yes Aliens.
These posts are fun to write and they get me thinking. Have you seen Highlander? Movie or series? What is your favorite? Who is your favorite character? I love Darius! And Duncan of course!

I'm Not The Only One“ !!!!

I’m Proud To Be Blogger Prompt #BehindTheBlogger

When I first saw this post I knew exactly what I was going to write about. I’m Proud To Be an American!

My Great uncle Attilio fought in World War II and was a Prisoner of War. He was captured during the Battle of The Bulge. He was kept at Stalag 9B. He was a Private and was in the camp for 147 days. He was captured at age 32. 3 years younger then I am now. During this time my grandfather and other uncles were also fighting in the war. They were sent home and that is how my parents were born and how I was born. Without them I would not be here. I would not have the freedom to do what I want. I can remember the gun salute at his funeral and all the times we drove to Maryland to visit him. He was a great man and I respected him greatly. I still do. I have pride in my Country because I know the sacrifices that soldiers make to protect us. The Fourth of July is not about fireworks or picnics. It is about being together with our family and celebrating that we are free. Free to have a picnic and free to set off fireworks. God Bless our troops and God Bless my Country. I’m Proud To Be an American!

Father Of Mine Writing Prompt Hop #BehindTheBlogger

This was the hardest prompt for me to write so far, Not because I didn't know what to say, but rather because I had too much to say. I was very close to my father, and I saw him almost everyday. I was with him when he died, and I will never forget it. This picture is him and I on my wedding day. Dancing to Butterfly Kisses. To the right is my husband. My father had a stroke when I was in high school and became legally blind. I was the last child, out of four, living at home.  My husband went to school with me, where my father worked, and I often thought that I was lucky that he knew what my hubby looked like and who he was. Father Of Mine always had my back. From when I had to make a school diorama of Noah's Ark, winning a model building contest (the only girl and I beat the boys), running for office to house repairs. I remember him in things that I do every day, all day, and I wish he was still here. The day he died a part of me was lost. I will never be the same. Only memories are there now.  I want to see my father again, to talk to him, to hear his voice, just to ask him how to fix something.

Don't You Remember Writing Prompt #BehindTheBlogger Hop

Thank you for reading a story from #BehindTheBlogger Hop. The main rule is that their blog post directly relates to the topic of that week. The point of this hop is for our readers to get to know us on a personal level.

I recently got to open my very first Hatchimal with my niece and nephew!! I could not believe how far toys have come since I was little. I remember my Tamagotchi ! How many times I had to hit that reset button was so sad for my poor pet. I also love Mario and can not believe how far he and his brother have come since the original Nintendo! When I was younger my elders used to talk about the Vic 20, which I did play too, and the Atari! I guess it is only fair that I have to talk about my Tamagotchis. Would children today even want one when the new Nintendo Switch just came out? So many things have happened in my life that it is weird to think about what people younger than me have only read about, or heard about.

There have also been so many people that have died recently. They can only be remembered, in fondness. There will never be another Prince or Purple Rain. There were so many deaths in 2016 that I thought 2017 would be better, but there have been some shocking deaths of 2017 as well.

Don't You Remember what is most important? Family !
Be thankful and live every day to the fullest.

If It Happens Again Blogger Writing Prompt #BehindTheBlogger

#BehindTheBlogger Sidebar Button

This week we are talking about the prompt  If It Happens Again ! There are so many things in my life that I think about. Things that would have changed who I am. The day I closed on my house I was in a car accident. I was, and still am, disabled from this drunk driver. I was under 30 years old. I lost my job, and so much more. Would I change it? Would I let it happen again? I don't know. But I do know that I was able to see my father almost every day for the last 5 years of his life. I treasure every memory and every day. I ran for office, and lost, but I learned the importance of being quoted in the newspaper. Even today, years later, I get to see my niece and nephew every day. I remember having to take a day off work to visit them in the hospital. There is a lot to be said for What if? I guess my point is that the past made me who I am today, gave me experiences that I can never get again, and memories to last forever. Would I change it? I would like to think that I wouldn't, but that is what makes the past what it is. Done. Over. What do you think? Check out what my fellow bloggers think, listed below!

We are Family Blogger Prompt #BehindTheBlogger

#BehindTheBlogger Sidebar Button
Family is not just blood. With all the technology today I have an online family of people that I have never met. It is often said that sometimes friends are nicer to you than family. However I am lucky enough to have grown up with a big Italian family. At times it was loud and crazy, but we were never bored. I married an only child and it is still weird to him when we all get together and have five different conversations going on at once!

When I saw this prompt title I immediately thought about my wedding. My siblings and their spouses were in my wedding party, After my first dance with my hubby, which was After All, The bridal party danced to the song "We are Family" by Sister Sledge. This is one of those songs that any person with a sibling can relate too.
These are the words:

We are family
I got all my sisters with me
We are family
Get up everybody and sing
We are family
I got all my sisters with me
We are family
Get up everybody and sing
Everyone can see we're together
As we walk on by
And, and we fly just like birds of a feather
I won't tell no lie
All, all of the people around us they say
Can they be that close
Just let me state for the record
We're giving love in a family dose
We are family
(Yeah, yeah, yeah, ah)
I got all my sisters with me
(I have, I have)
We are family
Get up everybody and sing
(Sing it to me)
We are family
I got all my sisters with me
We are family
Get up everybody and sing
Living life is fun and we've just begun
To get our share of this world's delights
High, high hopes we have for the future
And our

Feel free to ask me questions and get to know me better.

These Foolish Things #BehindTheBlogger Hop

These Foolish Things mean different things for different people. When I first saw this writing prompt I had no idea what to write about. Then I thought of what foolish things I have hanging around my house. I immediately thought of what I collect. I collect keychains, Magic The Gathering cards, other collectible cards and card games, and Clue games. I also collect Stephen King Hardcovers, books, Highlander dvds, and Yearly Teddy Bears, You know the big ones that are dated every year from Walmart. I have one for every year since I was born. It is a great way to look back on past pictures and know how old I was in the pictures. Many of my collections are just that. things that I collect to look at. However I do go on Highlander binges, before Netflix binging was common. I also love my keychain collection. I have keychains from all over the world. My aunt is a travel agent and has gotten me keychains from all over the place. England, and Vegas are just a few. I also have ones that I have collected. From my honeymoon to my last vacation with my dad. Each has a special meaning to me. My nephew got me one for Christmas! It feels heartwarming when you get a gift from the heart!

My brother bought me this for Christmas one year!

Hubby bought me The Dark Man!

My Stephen King Collection. I am OBSESSED with Stephen King! That is what started me reading, and being able to escape to different worlds. My collection is my pride and joy. The only thing that I want for my collection is a signed book, that I got from meeting him in person. There are a few other books that are new that are not pictured here. Choo Choo Charlie, Revival, etc.

This is my pride and joy!

This is one of my questions....

And this is my maiden name in the acknowledgements, :) :)

SO I guess that These Foolish Things may seem foolish to you, but not to me! I guess that everybody has their own foolish things that mean something to them!
In a few months I am also getting to meet Mr Tim Curry, He is my favorite actor of all time! He played It, Rocky Horror, Home Alone 2, Legend, etc! I am excited!

Comment with your favorite Tim Curry Role or your favorite Foolish Things you like to collect!
