Shop Rite Deals this week~!

I have not posted my shopping trips because it has been so hectic that I hardly have time to read the ads, never mind shop them. I was lucky this week because my mom from 3 Partners in Shopping, Nana, Mommy and Sissy too put together a list and I went with her to the store!

This is what we got :

The Ad coupons were:
$0.99 Nathan hot dogs
2 for $3 Nabisco any variety
Pepsi 5 for $11.98

Then we got
Grapes $0.99 lb
Corn 10 for $2

They had a deal with the Nabisco. Buy 2 Chips Ahoy and get a free gallon of Friendly's Ice cream. There is a limit of 4 offers.  The cookies are 2 for $5. There is also an ad in the Sunday paper for $1 off 3 Nabisco any variety.
I bought 6 cookies = $15 minus $3 in coupons = $12 - $2 ad coupon = $10. And I got three free gallons of Ice cream. so it was $10 for 9 items   :)   :)

They had another deal to save $5 instantly when you buy 6 Blue Bunny Ice Cream Novelties. They are $2.50 each. 6 x 2.50 = $15 minus the $5 instantly = $10. My mom had two printable coupons for $0.75/ 1. She got them even cheaper. 6 for $10 is still pretty good.

They also had Heluva Good Dip on sale 3 for $5. There was a $0.75/1 coupon. They ended up being 3 for $2.75.

They also had a deal on Birds Eye frozen veggies. Protein blends for $1.49. When you buy 2 you get 1 free Birds eye ultimate fruit. There is a $1/1 Birds Eye protein blends from the Sunday paper. So I got 4 protein blends for $0.49 each after coupons = $1.96 and I got 2 free bags of frozen strawberries. $2 for 6 items  :)   :)

The last deal was Dunkin Donuts and Smuckers etc. Dunkin Donuts lb ground coffee is on sale for $7.99 each. There is a $0.75 off 2 Dunkin Donuts items. When you spend $15 you get a $5 catalina coupon for your next trip. I also got a smuckers topping to make sure I was over the $15. I got the Magic Shell for $1.99. There was a smuckers coupon in the Sunday paper for $0.50/1.  So I paid 7.99+7.99+1.99 = 17.97 - 1.50 - 1 in coupons = 15.47 and I got a $5 catalina. = $10.47 ! That is what 1 lb of Dunkin can go for.    :)   :)

I also used a $5 off $50 from the Taste book!  Thanks mom!

Tales from Feyron by Diana Wicker Giveaway & Coupon Codes!

The Realm of Feyron has always been...

Publication Date: November 2, 2012
Genre: Young Adult Fantasy/Coming of Age

The Realm of Feyron has always been. It is the origin of all things magical, the axis point where all the worlds meet. Once, in days gone by, there were many gateways within the Temple of Pyli connecting the Worlds Beyond seeded with magic to their home. Now many gateways have flickered out, and Feyron weakens as the magic fades and the Guardians are lost.

For the first time in over three hundred years a Dreamweaver has come of age and is tasked with contacting the Guardians. When she awakens in the night after a vision of her best friend lost and alone, injured in the snows at the top of the Crystal Mountains, she seeks out the Sacred Fire in the Temple in an attempt to call forth more information. A voice calls out from the fire, "Dreamweaver, you are summoned." An image appears of an ancient path through the Mist Shrouded Forest leading to a hidden gate into the Crystal Caverns below the mountains. The Guardians have summoned her on a quest that will take her to the four realms of light within Feyron in search of answers and aid.

Publication Date: May 10, 2013

The Guardians have awakened after the Time of Sleep and returned to renew the magic with the clans of Faie. At the request of the Guardian, Lord Grypos, Keeper of Knowledge, the Master Scholar travels through the Outer Gateway with craftsmen and apprentices to coordinate the repairs of the once great oasis that houses the ancient archives of knowledge known as the Island in the Sands.

As the summer wanes and the oasis begins to return to its former glory, the Guardian calls the Master Scholar to the meditation room in the wee hours of the night to discuss a journey. In the fire an image flickers of the red desert sands speeding past, a land of grey beyond the desert, and a cavern of twilight behind an obsidian wall. “Arwyn and Shyamal are to go there for me to seek out that which was once mine.”

What starts as a seemingly simple journey becomes an adventure with life threatening consequences as the two are unexpectedly joined by their friends on a journey far from home beyond the realms of light in a realm that few within the clans of Faie knew could even be reached.

Publication Date: December 20, 2014

Old relics and have stories of their own. Sometimes they contain adventures waiting to be sparked and journeys bursting to begin.

The Box of Melodies was left with Clan Caris by Lady Oyisha, daughter of the mists, for care and keeping. A series of visions revealing the last desperate moments of a forgotten clan - the loss of their gateway to Feyron and the escape of a lone traveler holding the box - spurs a handful of adventuresome youth on a trek through the Lesser Forest where they inadvertently cause a ripple through the mists with unintended consequences.

A few of the youth find themselves on an unexpected journey to a World Beyond, lost in mist and shadow, where misunderstanding and suspicion lead to danger and darkness. Forgotten histories are discovered, clan secrets are revealed, and old alliances are remembered as the families of the lost seek to discover where the youth have been drawn by the memories within the Mists of Time.

Also, Diana has set up a small promo event for everyone to participate in. Here is the link: https://www.thunderclap.it/projects/17119-spread-the-word-about-feyron.

Diana lives in the balmy climate of the US south with her husband, two children, two dogs, two cats, and a cantakerous rabbit.  She enjoys reading, sewing (clothing, costuming, and experimental toy making), and RPG games. (She grew up with the old school paper/pencil style of gaming, but has transitioned happily to the highly interactive world of video games.)

The idea for Feyron started with a map, a place for her daughter to tell stories and live out storytelling role playing adventures with her friends.  The lore grew around the map, for every world needs lore if you are going to “live” there.  The idea for a series, Tales from Feyron, grew out of the lore, for if you’re going to invent a world, you may as well play there too.  The stories are continuing to grow through the various historical ages of Feyron and may yet “ripple” outwards to the Worlds Beyond touched by magic.

Category/Genre: Western Romance
Sub Category: Paranormal elements

Mason “Tuck” Tucker meets Sass Thornton when she lassos him and drags him from certain death in a flashflood. She dubs him “dumbass” for entering a box canyon during a rainstorm. This label he will hear many times as she struggles against her unwanted attraction to him.
Sass’s father, Phil, owns the cattle ranch that she runs with an iron fist. Her father has been keeping two important secrets from her; one about her mother’s murderer, the other about a killer in his bunkhouse who has romantic interests in the attractive young woman.
Phil hires Tuck, over his daughter’s strong objections, to run the bunkhouse and control growing racial tension between white cowhands and Mexican vaqueros. The young man surprises Phil with his easy, yet tough and effective, management style. The ranch owner takes Tuck into his confidence, revealing the truth about a deadly gunman terrorizing the bunkhouse. He insists that Tuck deal with the threat without letting Sass know of the danger.
Throughout the book, Tuck is haunted by howls of a lone wolf, but only one other person can hear it. The wolf often accompanies life-like dreams of an old Indian ghost named Lost Eagle. The spirit medicine-man repeatedly warns him about a strange destiny he must soon face. When Tuck reveals the dreams to Sass, she cautions him to avoid the cave where the ghost of Lost Eagle is thought to haunt. Despite her distrust of the Native American phantom, the apparition saves Tuck by waking him when an assassin approaches. Lost Eagle prepares Tuck for his fate, foretelling that the young man will soon have to choose life or death between friends. His choice will result in the death of one.
Read what happens when Lost Eagle’s ghost, the lone-wolf spirit-guide and Tuck’s new found love, Sass, come together in a life and death struggle. How does the murderer in the bunkhouse seek revenge against Sass and her father? What happens when Phil’s secrets are revealed to his daughter? Will Tuck leave the woman he comes to love to save his aunt who raised him as the only mother he’s ever known? Find the answers by reading the Ghost of Lost Eagle.

Vicky Deal Sharing Aunt: how to write about a ghost? or who he would like to meet as a ghost?

Writing about a ghost.

Before writing about ghosts, writers need to explore their own feelings about the paranormal world. Is it “real,” or is it simply a plot device with which to craft suspense, anxiety, compassion or other emotion?

The answer—a ghost is whatever the author wants it to be. Portrayal of the ghost must meet certain literary tests to be believable. For example, most times the ghost’s history reveals the apparition’s basic character and role. An evil man might be expected to be an evil ghost with a hostile agenda. Premature death of an innocent child will likely produce a gentle ghost. In fact, that expectation by readers can be tapped for surprises like when the childlike presence suddenly turns violent and readers learn that the seemingly placid child was actually torturing small animals before his/her death, a characteristic that transcends death.

In Ghost of Lost Eagle, my Indian medicine man was the last of his tribe. With nobody to chant his soul into the world of the Great Spirit, he becomes trapped on Earth as a ghost. But, he is a ghost with a mandate from the afterworld that demands he guide my main character through a difficult life journey. He is more of a mentor and guardian, despite the locals fearing him. In the context of this western-romance, his role is both colorful and vital.

Who would I like to meet as a ghost?

What makes you think I haven’t already met a ghost? Besides, my two favorite movies are the original Ghost Busters and GHOST with Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore.

Given a choice to meet a ghost, I would love nothing more than to meet my dad, again. Even though I was an adult when he passed, I still have many questions he could answer. Maybe that is why Lost Eagle in my book is such a nurturing and wise old ghost who gently guides without giving directions.

Are ghosts real?  I don’t know about movie-style apparitions, but I do believe there are spirits among us, some docile and some insidious. The problem is the interface. We live in parallel, unconnected realms and only rarely do cracks allow passage in or out. Those openings provide substance for stories . . . and maybe, just maybe, for the real thing.

About Dean Sault:
Author Dean Sault lives in Northern California with his wife and her menagerie of pets. Every day for the past thirty-five years, he could not wait to shut down his insurance office, so he could spend time with his family, go fishing, or retreat into his private world of writing fictional places and people.
In 2007, severe vertigo took away Sault’s beloved avocation of bass fishing and writing for Inside Line magazine. Sault refused to let vertigo stand in the way of his love of writing. He decided to dust off his stories and share his literary creations with the world.  He began by publishing his science fiction space opera, The Last Human War.
After twenty years of writing in the dark, Sault was ready to step out and share his work with the world! He says, “2013 will be the year my readers experience a diversity of genres I’ve kept hidden from the world. From sci-fi to western romance, some with paranormal elements, this will be an exciting year.”
Sault brings his unique writing style to every story he creates. With crisp, fast-paced prose, he employs Hemingway-like simplicity as he weaves complex characters into fascinating worlds. Readers often comment that once begun, they cannot put his books down. “I learned this skill, believe it or not, from writing bass fishing articles and columns for Inside Line magazine during the time when I chased professional fishing and guiding,” Sault says. “In fact, many of the stories we are making available to readers today, found their beginnings in dusty motel rooms, late at night, while at distant bass tournaments.”
This breakout author shows promise to be one of the great writers of our time. From action-adventure to terror in his thrillers, his masterful handling of fast-paced prose compares with great writers like Tom Clancy and HG Wells. His western-romances share the strong pacing, but they slow at just the right moments to build touching love connections that tug at the readers’ heartstrings.
