YAY, I am so lucky. I love the people over at www.yournovel.com. I was given the opportunity to review one of their books, again. I originally reviewed "A Reunion to Die For" by Geno Vincenzo. It was about a couple that own a detective agency that go to their reunion, and are the target of a killer. My hubby and I met in grade school and went to our reunion! This book was perfect.
This time I decided to pick "Missed Tryst" by the same author. This is what the website says about the book:
Missed Tryst by Geno Vincenzo
is a personalized detective novel that puts our couple in a hardboiled, film-noir detective novel where they’ve formed Gal and Guy Private Eye Agency.
Looking for some downtime from work-a-day stress, a romantic tryst at the Mystic Hotel in the metropolis of Capital City is all our couple wants. But upon arrival, their plan unravels when a series of mix-ups and botched meetings sends our couple down the road to danger, entangled in espionage, cut-throat deceit, and a secret that could threaten life on earth as we know it.
To get into this one, you’ll have to assume the roles of detectives. He is fashioned after the likes of gumshoe heroes Sam Spade from Dashiell Hammett’s Maltese Falcon, Phillip Marlowe in Raymond Chandler’s The Big Sleep, and Mickey Spillane’s Mike Hammer. Think Maddie Hayes (Cybill Shepherd) and David Addison (Bruce Willis) of TV’s Moonlighting.
There will be bumps, blood, bruises; male and female villains; cops and thugs; some rough language; and action, intrigue and romance.
How cool is that? This, I think is the first book when the detective agency is first formed. I loved this book so much. After you pick what book you want you are then asked a bunch of questions. Your hair color, your man's hair color, eye colors, pet names for each other, and other personal questions so that the book is uniquely yours. You can pick a picture of your own for the cover, which is awesome if you pick the island book and then use a picture of your honeymoon on an island! Then you can decide if you want Wild or Mild. Wild is more descriptive during intimate scenes. Mild has kissing, but it is not as detailed. I picked wild, because I might as well! My hubby and I got a kick out of our names in print and it was a nice book to read together. I really liked that the book was all about us, and we shared it together. The story itself was very intriguing, and I was guessing who was guilty until the end. I recommend these books for anniversaries and Valentine's Day. However if you spouse loves to read, then this book is a great gift for any occasion! Happy Reading!!!
