My Review:
This is a great book. The second installment of a trilogy, and I have to wait until 2015 to finish the story. As Julia moved into to her father's house she thought that she could finally improve their relationship. She was not right. At first she got treated like a burden, then she got ignored and finally her father showed disappointment to her. Her only friend is Isaac, who is secretly planning to marry her and ruin her chances with her true love, Edward. However she has already been married to a very powerful man. As she tries to join the Ton and be a perfect young lady she realizes that she will never fit in. All the men in her life have different plans for her, and none of them care for what she really wants. towards the end of the book a chance encounter with Edward will change everything. Especially while he recuperates in her father's house. The newspaper articles do not help either. I am giving this book a 5/5. I was given a copy to review from Tyndale House Publishers, however all opinions are my own.

My Review:
I love stories like this. Mainly because they are a part of my past as an American. There are so many things that happened to make my life what it is. I am from the Northeast, and what would be different if the Saouth won the war? The author used true quotes from people that were involved in the war. It is hard to imagine that Andersonville is a real place that visitors can go to. I would love to go and see the inspiration for this book. The writer also wrote about characters that were like so many during the war. Not only were friendships ripped apart, but families were as well. It amazes me that the Traitors of the South were punished, when the North won. It is definitely something to think about. They were trying times for our country, and I really enjoyed going back in time with the author. I am giving this book a 5/5. Tyndale House Publishers has provided me with a copy of this book, however all opinions are my own.

My Review:

I have not seen this movie, but I will be buying it asap. This was a really good book. The beginning started off with Faith and Luke falling in love and getting married. They have a very short dating period. Luke is rich, but is only rich because of who he family is and he wants to break free from the family business to make a name for himself. His family thinks that Faith is the reason for Luke leaving, and that causes a rift between their relationships. Faith is really a loner. She ony counts on herself, until she meets Luke. However Luke was so hasty to start his career over that he made a mistake that causes her to run. Luke is a mess without Faith and vica versa. They each go home to their families, and it is there that they finally get some clarity. I didn't like that Luke never met Faith's dad until the break up. I did like that this book proves that money is not everything and it can not buy happiness. Things are just things. The real important stuff is love and family. As I got towards the end of the book I really hoped that Luke and Faith would realize they had the important stuff and lost it. I really wanted them to get it back. The end was sad, but it was bittersweet as well. I am giving this book a 4/5. I was given a copy to review from Tyndale, however all opinions are my own.
