Reviews

“Heinrich offers an engrossing metaphysical excursion through the quantum realm to discover the meaning of life in this contemplative debut...[His] rich, multilayered backdrop of existential food for thought propel this story to a truly transcendental experience.”

— Publisher's Weekly

“Science and faith combine in this nuanced and compelling sci-fi eco thriller... [that] cleverly explores and intertwines the well established science vs religion discourse in a way that, I think, does credit to both sides.”

— LoveReading (featured under "Indie Books We Love")

“The Quantum Revelations is a wildly unpredictable narrative with a show stopping climax, pondering the interplay of science, religion, and technology in a way that is as captivating as it is disturbing.”

— Independent Book Review

Science and faith combine in this nuanced and compelling Sci-fi eco thriller.

In a world on the brink of climate catastrophe, two scientists continue their confidential work to develop a practical quantum computer, but they get more than they bargained for when their creation calls into question everything they thought to be true about the laws of physics and the world around them. The Quantum Revelations is a multifaceted sci-fi story. First off we have Skylar’s quantum computer experiment, tangentially linked to his interest in “quantum scale physics. He wanted to understand what really makes the universe tick”. )

Interview

1.      What literary pilgrimages have you gone on?

I visited a float spa as research for The Quantum Revelations. It was very relaxing, I’d love to go again sometime.

2.      What is the first book that made you cry?

3.      Does writing energize or exhaust you?

Writing a new story is initially energizing and exciting. Then at some point, it can become exhausting. Still, I never dreamed of quitting because finishing was all I cared about.

4.      What is your writing Kryptonite?

5.      Did you ever consider writing under a pseudonym?

Yes, I considered it. But it wasn’t possible for me because I already had publications out there.

6.      What other authors are you friends with, and how do they help you become a better writer?

I don’t have any writing buddies, but as far as I’m concerned, I learned from the best: Robert McKee and Dwight Swain, my two favorite writing theory authors.

7.      Do you want each book to stand on its own, or are you trying to build a body of work with connections between each book?

It would be better from a marketing perspective to build related works, but for me, writing is an outlet...something inside me that I need to get off my chest. After I’ve written it, I never want to think about that stuff again. It’s onto the next thing.

8.      What authors did you dislike at first but grew into?

9.      What’s your favorite under-appreciated novel?

10.  As a writer, what would you choose as your mascot/avatar/spirit animal?

11.  How many unpublished and half-finished books do you have?

None. I don’t allow myself to move onto something new until I finish or abandon a project, but I do have a long queue of unstarted books that I’d love to write!

12.  What did you edit out of this book?

I went through about twelve drafts of The Quantum Revelations, and have cut probably 50 scenes that didn’t pan out. My main characters for the book used to be a southern baptist minister and a modern cattle rancher!

13.  If you didn’t write, what would you do for work?

14.  Do you hide any secrets in your books that only a few people will find?

Yes, many! There are many deeper levels of understanding to The Quantum Revelations, but I won’t be divulging any of that. Those that really study my work will be rewarded.

15.  What is your favorite childhood book?

Jurassic Park.
