Fern Valley, nestled in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, is ground zero for all things romance. The town has pulled out all the stops for the first Valentine’s Day “Love is in the Air” Book Festival with events like Death by Chocolate, author speed-dating, a character masquerade, and a male cover model fashion show.
Everything is candy and roses until the sparks start to fly. Jules Keene and her team at the glamping resort spend their time trying to tamp down fiery tempers because opposites may not always attract.
When a popular author with a heart of gold is found murdered in the barn at the resort, Jules has to find the culprit before more than just hearts are broken.

Interview:
Where are you from?Originally, I am from Virginia Beach. Now, I live in Central Virginia with my husband and a pair of crazy Jack Russell Terriers.
Tell us your latest
news? I’m so excited that Deadlines and Valentines has launched. It’s
the fourth book in the Jules Keene Glamping Mysteries. A Tisket A Tasket,
Not Another Casket, the third in the Mermaid Bay Christmas Shoppe series
drops in January. And in March, my new series, The Pearly Girls, launches. This
one is my Veronica Mars meets the Golden Girls cozy mystery. The first book is Murder
Strikes a Chord.
When and why did you begin writing? I have always loved reading and writing. I have loved mysteries since Scooby-Doo and Nancy Drew. One day, I decided to write what a read.
When did you first consider yourself a writer? At my day gig, I was a technical writer for many years. I didn’t consider myself a mystery writer until my first short story was published in 2014.
What inspired you to write your first book? I am part of a writers’ group, Sisters in Crime, and we had a female private investigator talk to us about her job and some of the types of cases she handles. I was outlining my book at the time, and I needed a profession for my character that would give her the freedom to sleuth. That’s when Delanie Fitzgerald became a sassy private eye.
Do you have a specific writing style? I write one private eye series and three cozy mystery series. All of my books have some sort of crime and end with justice being served, but they are light and humorous. Those are the types of mysteries that I like to read. In the cozy mysteries, the protagonist is an amateur sleuth who gets involved and helps solve the crime with her wits and what ever she happens to have handy.
How did you come up with the title? All of the titles in the Jules Keene Glamping Mysteries have some kind of rhyme to them that hint at what the story is about. They are: Vintage Trailers and Blackmailers, Film Crews and Rendezvous, Christmas Lights and Cat Fights, and Deadlines and Valentines. Next up is Teddy Bears and Ghostly Lairs.
Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp? I write crime fiction/ and sometimes it’s dark and tragic. I want my readers to know that justice prevails, and in my cozy mysteries, a normal, everyday person is able to help the police solve the crime.
What would you like my readers to know? I would love to share the fun that goes on in my cozy little towns. They can find me on the socials or at my website: http://HeatherWeidner.com, where I have a quarterly newsletter with giveaways.
