Synopsis:
Meet Ruby Wisdom. Smart and sensible. Humorous and heroic. Tough and tender. As the only private investigator in tiny Wormwood, New York, Ruby handles a wide range of cases—everything from jewel heists and cheating husbands to stolen wedding gowns, kidnapped artwork and fraudulent heirs.
In HANDCUFFS & HIGH HEELS, Ruby is hired by the wife of a millionaire when the woman suspects her husband is having an affair. And he is—several of them. But when Ruby begins connecting the duplicitous dots, the deceitful spouse ends up in a much more difficult dilemma than being caught with his hands in Cookie’s jar. And that’s when the real investigation begins.
HANDCUFFS & HIGH HEELS is a cozy mystery loaded with humor, romance, memorable characters and a sleuth who knows her way around baked goods and sweet treats as well as crime scenes and tricky investigations.

 Interview

Where are you from? Chicago

Tell us your latest news? Readers are raving about the first Ruby Wisdom mystery, Handcuffs & High Heels. That makes me equally grateful and elated. I’m also excited that so many people are enjoying the second book in the series, Death by Donut.

When and why did you begin writing? When I was six. A short story about Santa Claus. I’ve been at it ever since.

When did you first consider yourself a writer? When my first article was published in a large daily newspaper. It was short and sweet, but I enjoyed the experience and was so grateful for the opportunity. I’ve blended journalism and fiction ever since that initial publication.

What inspired you to write your first book? My first book is buried at the bottom of a desk drawer. I was inspired by ambition, creative spirit and a desire to learn. Handcuffs & High Heels, the first Ruby Wisdom mystery, is my tenth completed manuscript.

Do you have a specific writing style? I like humor and mystery, so I blend the two into a fast-paced story featuring criminals, capers and, hopefully, a lighthearted tone that twines throughout.

How did you come up with the title? The title refers to details related to a pivotal twist in the plot.

Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp? Laugh often and loudly.

What would you like my readers to know? First of all, I’d like them to know how important they are to authors. I really like to hear what readers think about the work—the good, the bad and all the rest. Their comments and thoughts are essential because the equation is incomplete without amazing readers!

  1. My favorite part of the circus is the trapeze artists. It is amazing the things they do in the air!
