Excerpt

I hate my life. It sucks. It’s been thirty days since the shooting, and things just keep getting worse. I turn over in my bed and groan. I’m hung over again. My body feels like it’s been through a meat grinder then tossed into a dryer, just for fun.

First, I rub my hands over my throbbing temples, hoping to relieve some of the pressure. Next, I try to deal with my gritty, aching eyes by massaging them. Nope, not working. I let out a frustrated moan. Knowing it’s my fault, the agony my body is currently suffering, doesn’t make it any better. Actually, it makes it worse.

I remember telling Mattie four months ago, when we met at the cabin, I wasn’t good with rejection. If she could see me now, she’d know I wasn’t overstating things. I feel like sh*t – in every way possible.

AUTHOR Bio and Links:

MK Harkins is the author of the romantic novel Intentional. An avid reader, she began writing fiction when she ran out of reading selections on her Kindle. Her new novel, Unintentional, is a sequel to her first work and is based on the life of the character Cade. A business owner, Harkins spends her free time traveling, watching movies, reading voraciously, in addition to creating her own fiction. The author currently lives in Mercer Island, Washington.

Interview:

1.       Is your life anything like it was two years ago? Not at all. Now that I’ve started writing, my life seems so much richer.

2.       Have you ever had an imaginary friend? No (just so you know – if I did I’d never admit to it!)

3.       Do you have any phobias? Yes. This is an odd one. I live in the Seattle area. I’ve always had a phobia about one of my children falling over the side of a ferry boat. Weird, I know!

4.       Any weird things you do when you’re alone? Sing loudly and very badly

5.       What is your favorite quote and why? This is from Point of Retreat (Colleen Hoover) “You know they want to come out.  So keep at it.  Make it a practice.  And write poorly, write awfully, write with abandon and it may end up being really, really good”.
