My favorite memory of my dad is of him and I flying togethet. When I was a kid we had an airplane (I actually thought everyone had their own plane) We would go flying together every chance we could. We would spend hours in the air and it was our time to be able to talk with each other. I miss those times.
ReplyDeleteMy dad was very special and he was a Navy man through and through, I enjoyed when I was a child and he would take us body surfing in Hawaii, or for tug boat rides in Alaska, he allowed us to do a lot of things that not everyone else got a chance to do, he is missed.
ReplyDeleteMy dad walking me down the aisle and bawling! He hardly ever shows his emotions but on that day he was very emotional!
ReplyDeleteI remember that is was always there when we needed him and was always a loving daddy. He did whatever anyone needed of him!!!
ReplyDeleteHoreseback riding is what I always remember doing with my Dad.
ReplyDeleteI remember once when my Dad took me to McDonald's. He hated them so he told me they had worms on their burgers. We wend into a store to 'let our food cool' and he sneakily bought gummy worms then snuck them on my burger. LOL.
ReplyDeleteI remember wrestling with my dad
ReplyDeleteIt is sad to say, but I do not have a memory of my Dad. He left when I was two-years-old, and when I had the means to look for him, I found out he died a few months after my last child was born, eleven years ago. My mother has always taken on the "Dad" role, and I am so very proud of her strength, courage, and taking care of two children with no child support--doing it all on her own and never making us feel like we were missing something/someone in our lives.
ReplyDeleteIf I win, this wonderful prize would go to my Fiance', Joseph, for not only marrying me dispute my many severe illnesses and disabilities, but for loving my three children as his own. He is truly the father figure I would have wished for my brother and I growing up.
I have a lot of memories of my dad taking us fishing and teaching us how to cast, put on our own bait and take off the fish once we caught it!
ReplyDelete:( I was raised my my single mom, aka MommyDaddy.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite memory of my dad is going fishing/ camping. but everything would always go wrong. we had fireworks at camp once, but they spun around while going off and started shooting at us.
ReplyDeletethen once on the fourth of july I was in the kayak and i was watching other peoples fireworks, and i was being attacked by little green biting/pinching bugs in the middle of the water. ha
My favorite memory of dad was when he used to return from overseas, he was a marine and all the marines would be coming off the planes, and the families would be running to hug them.
ReplyDeleteI used to go to the market with my dad when I was young. Mom didn't drive so it was a special time that I could spend alone with him. I really enjoyed those times.
ReplyDeleteI have some great memories of Dad. When I was a teen he & I, just the two of us, would go shopping together.
ReplyDeletehe took us on a 2 week cruise and we got to do some amazing things
ReplyDeleteHe always used to fix my electronics.
ReplyDeleteMy dad is a handy man and he is always fixing things around the house.
