If God gave you a mission, would you answer His call?
The Lord has given Stary, a high school freshman, a mission: extinguish the evil residing in the murderer of two teens--Maren and Umbra. Stary never imagined that her strange visions meant that she was the Spirit Warrior for God and now with her powers activated, she must train to use them and try not to get caught by the murderer who has the ability to hide and conjure up the dark powers from the fallen angel himself--Lucifer. If Stary fails, not only will she lose her life, but Maren and Umbra will lose their entry into heaven and the world will be exposed to the madness of the murderer for the next forty years until the new Spirit Warrior is born.

Excerpt from Chapter 3

Maren walked, or more like floated, around the room, as if pacing. She looked at the floor for a few minutes. All I could do was stand there and watch her graceful figure. When the silence got too heavy, she slowly brought her head up and looked at me. She smiled to herself and came to me, grabbing my hands. Same as the dream! Even though I couldn't feel her actual hands, I felt warm and safe.
"Let us not waste anymore of your precious life. To be truthful...I need your help Stary Moon. So I may rest in peace."
I looked up at her, wondering what I could do and what she meant. Words were floating in my head, but I was only focused on the connection I had with Maren through her touch. I nodded to her request, although it did not register. It didn't matter what she asked; I felt too safe with her to allow myself to fail her.
She beamed and let go of my hands, the sense of security dissipating with her touch. "I am so pleased! Thank you, Stary dear. You see, I need you to help find my murderer."
My comforting world I just adored a moment before was vaporized by her blunt approach to a touchy topic. I knew I should have felt alarmed, afraid, and protested. I was waiting for that electric zap to wake me from the dream and recharge my better judgment. The mission of finding a murderer...it was insane! It had to be dangerous and it would completely alter my life. However, instead of waiting for that electric shock to surge through my blood steam, I snapped off the invisible collar of doubt and exhaled my thoughts out, clearing my mind. I 100% believed Maren and was willing to aid her. My human instinct to flee must have vanished into an unseen pit.
I did feel a normal response as I sat down with a thud in my chair, totally bemused about everything. "Why me? How can I be of any use in tracking a killer? And why must you find your murderer before you can rest in peace? That's not fair at all!"
She smiled wryly, her tone informative. "It is a rule Stary. We must find our murderer so we can destroy the evil inside their heart and soul in order to save other people from becoming victims. And you have the power to destroy that evil and save us Stary."
Me? I had that kind of power? How? When? And what was with the "we" and "us"?
