Excerpt
As the airplane
set down on the tarmac, Cicily’s palms began to sweat. She didn’t know exactly
what to expect, but knew something exciting awaited her on the other side of
the door. When the car had first dropped her at the compound where all the
tests were performed, they’d made her sign a billion papers, giving them
complete control over her life for the next three years. It wasn’t an easy
decision. Words like indentured, compliance, sexual play, and obedience
made her balk. When she asked him
about it, all he said was she needed to give up complete control before she’d
have a chance to heal. It took her three days to put her signature down.
She was a slave.
But she didn’t know for whom or what. All he’d told her was the experience
would change her life and she’d no longer be anyone’s doormat when it was all
said and done. It sounded like the perfect solution to her problems.
An announcement
came over the speakers saying they’d landed and the passengers were free to
disembark. Grabbing her one and only bag, she leapt up and made her way down
the aisle to the exit. The stewardess that had been so reassuring earlier gave
Cicily a wink and said, “Bye now. Enjoy your stay on The Island.”
There were only
twenty people on the whole plane so it didn’t take them long to shuffle down
the steps and board the luxury bus waiting for them. She smiled at a few of the
others but sat next to a pretty brunette with large, dark eyes, who looked to
be about twenty-three, the same age as Cicily.
“Hi. I’m
Cicily.”
“Hey. Marta.”
The girl’s voice was like honey.
“Any idea what we’re
supposed to expect?”
Marta shook her
head and turned toward the window. “All I know is what we were told at the
compound. I’m positive my fantasies are about to come to fruition…” Her
voice trailed off.
Cicily looked
out at the trees speeding by and caught a glimpse of a high, brick wall
whizzing past the window. The bus made a turn and began its trek up a long
driveway, flanked by so many beautiful flowers, she knew it must take an army
to keep them looking so pristine.
Everywhere her
eyes turned, she found opulence. Grass was neatly trimmed, shrubs immaculate,
roses bursting in every color of the rainbow, and a house that looked like it
was right out of an episode of Lifestyles
of the Rich and Famous. She could almost hear the voice of Robin Leach in
her head, announcing the name of the movie star inhabiting the mansion before
droning on to fill in viewers about the fabulous cars in the garage and the
Olympic-sized pool out back.
When the bus
ground to a halt, she snatched her bag, slung it over her shoulder, and
sauntered down the aisle to the front. Through the front window, she could just
make out two figures standing in the grass a good way off with what looked like
a buggy behind them. The driver opened the doors and she stepped out onto a
sandy driveway that led to the front door.
Once everyone
was standing together, the driver led them up the walk. He rang the bell,
tipped his hat, and walked away.
A beautiful
young girl with fire red hair, green eyes, and long, slender legs opened the
door and bowed low. “Welcome to The Island,” she said.
Cicily felt her
face flush. The young woman was completely nude except for a lace collar with a
large H on the front.

My Review:
When I first got married it seemed that erotica was only for men. However the 50 Shades trilogy opened up the door way for women. This book is perfect for women that love a good romance, but also have fantasies. I really liked the plot of an island, and being able to escape the world and live under a pseudonym. However the end was one of the worst endings I have read in a long time. At first I thought that some of the pdf was missing. The story just ends in the middle, Each person is on the island for three years, and the story only focuses on a week. There are a lot of characters and I do not know why none of them got closure. I am giving this book a 3/5. The plot, setting and characters were well worth the read. I was given a copy to review, however all opinions are my own.
