My Favorite cookie for Christmas is my Grandmothers. I do not know the recipe and she has made it so many times I do not know if she even has it written down. She makes either chocolate or vanilla dough into balls. Then she dips them in vanilla or chocolate glaze with anise. Then she adds sprinkles etc. They taste so good. I host a cookie swap every year and this is my favorite recipe:
You need chocolate (any flavor or color) for candy making, from JoAnns , Michaels or ACMoore. You also need marshmallows, pretzels, assorted candy, assorted nuts, a double burner, popsicle sticks (buy in same area as chocolates), and wax paper.
1. start melting chocolate in double burner (no not add water to chocolate). You have to stir every few minutes to evenly melt. 2 people around to help is always good, I do this with my sisters.
2. Start putting 3 giant marshmallows on sticks.put them aside
3. open pretzels so they are ready to grab
4. Open all candy, shots, nuts, and anything else you got to decorate them with (can use anything you would use to decorate a gingerbread house or cake). then put them loose on wax paper.
5. by now your candy should be melted, if it bubbles then it is probably burnt. Take your pretzels or marshmallow sticks and pour melted chocolate on one end, or cover the marshmallows.
6. after you dip 1 in melted chocolate roll it in loose candy on wax paper.
7. do step 6 repeatedly for each one you want to make.
8. let them dry on wax paper.
We did this and made really yummy combos. Chocolate with broken up pieces of reeses pb cups, White chocolate with pistachios, the possibilities are endless. The salt of the pretzels add a nice taste too.

I am giving away a romance novel to read while your desserts are baking! I am also giving away a $10 Dunkin Donuts Gift Card! Please enter here:
