Lex Luger, wrestling megasensation and three-time world heavyweight champion, ruled the ring for years as “The Total Package.” Whether he was making a dramatic entrance from a helicopter, defeating champ Hulk Hogan, or sculpting a near-perfect physique, Lex was on top of his game. Yet backstage, he was wrestling with addictions to sex, drugs, and alcohol—things he clung to even when his mistress died suddenly of a drug overdose and Lex went to jail. There, Lex faced the truth: he was losing the fight for his life. And still awaiting him was his most brutal opponent yet, when the wrestling champ found himself helplessly paralyzed from the neck down. In Wrestling with the Devil, Lex Luger reveals never-before-told stories from his career, his struggle with personal demons, and how, through unexpected faith, grace, and redemption, he overcame all odds to fight the only battle that really matters.

My Review:
My brother in law LOVES wrestling. So I knew Lex's name but nothing else. What a wonderful story about losing it all even almost losing your life and turning it into a life with meaning. Lex had it all, However what he didn't have was the ability to stop the downward spiral. He lost loved ones, and his life became very public.
This book did a great job of explaining all the ups and downs without being graphic. I learned some things about wrestling and some medical terms. There were times in the book where I felt bad for Lex and other times when I felt bad for the people that knew Lex. However by the end of the book I could tell that Lex was a changed man, and I like the new Lex. I really liked the pictures included as well. Faith can move mountains, and this book is a perfect example.
I am giving this book a 5/5. I was given a copy to review from Tyndale, however all opinions are my own.
