Author Interview:
1. How many alien races are there?
That’s the beauty of writing and loving science fiction. In my mind, the number of alien races is infinite. I’ve actually had to create a spreadsheet to keep the different species, planets and even animal names down along with characteristics and descriptions to help keep all of my rambling thoughts in order.
In Dangerously Yours, the main characters are human and Laconian. There are a few other minor species mentioned, but to keep readers from being overly confused I didn’t go into detail about where they were from. I like to reserve detail explanations for the main characters.
2. What planets are they from?
Princess Sa’Mya is from Laconia. In Dangerously Mine we were introduced to Sonis and learned it is a very hot and dry moon. Laconia is also hot and dry, but unlike Sonis it is a thriving planet with many technological advances.
3. What makes Epps different from other survivors?
Readers will find that all of my main human characters have the same basic trait of resiliency and an instinct for survival. I think in order to survive what they’ve been through (uh hm, what I’ve put them through) the characters need to be strong willed, have a sense of purpose and also a wicked sense of humor. You will find all of those traits within Kane, not so much the sense of humor, but all the other traits. Hopefully in the upcoming books Kane can get his sense of humor back, but for Dangerously Yours, his best friend JB has enough for the both of them!
4. What is interesting about the space pirates?
What I find most interesting about them is that they’re badass and they know it. They escaped from a slave mining planet and that feat alone has given all the guys an inflated personality. Their sole purpose now is to stick it to the aliens as best as they know how. They rob, steal and fuck as often as possible. I love these guys and hopefully my readers will too.
5. What would you like my readers to know?
I would love for the readers to know that I’ve got so much more in store for all of my characters! Book #3 in the series, Dangerously Hers has been picked up by Ellora’s Cave and I’m set to begin working on the edits very soon. I’m also finishing the 4th book and hope to be completed with book #5, which is Eva’s friend Allysan’s story before the end of the year. Even after Allysan’s story is completed, I hope to introduce more characters and different worlds. I would love for the readers to go on this journey with me!
