Knights of the Darkness Chronicles By D.N. Simmons reviews! Books 1 & 2! I LOVED these books!!!!!

Enter the world of the Knights of the Darkness Chronicles, where supernatural beings and humans live together openly in a tenuous society. Danger lurks behind every corner as they release their darkest and deadliest desires. In an attempt to keep order, the government has created laws that govern the supernaturals and a special  police force; the S.U.I.T. (Supernatural Unit Investigation Team), are trained to keep the dangerous supernatural threat in check. But not everyone can be contained or controlled. Criminals come in all species and even the highly trained S.U.I.T. Organization needs help. It is apparent that if the world is to maintain its fragile peace, certain alliances must be formed, even if it's between enemies.
Genre(s): (Dark)Urban Fantasy/Paranormal Romance
Horror/GLBT/Multicultural/Mystery/Erotica

Desires Unleashed is the first novel in the riveting, highly-addictive and sexually-charged Knights of the Darkness Chronicles. Experience the heart-pounding thrill of the chase in this electrifying page-turner as you uncover the mystery behind the series of gruesome killings that have been terrorizing the citizens of Chicago.

When a grisly decapitated corpse pops up on a Chicago Street, drained of blood, the highly-trained, government-funded special police force assigned two of their best detectives to the case. S.U.I.T. Detectives Warren Davis and Matthew Eric delve deep into their investigation to discover just who or what is leaving mutilated bodies in public places. They soon realize that the killer or killers is one step ahead of them and if they are going to stop the menace before another innocent human is viciously attack, they are going to need help.

Natasha Hemingway liked her life just the way it was... normal and supernatural-free. The vampires and shape-shifters were just where she wanted them to be--far away from her. All was going well until an unfortunate accident landed her in the hospital. It was then that she discovered she had an ability that could help her save countless lives. All of a sudden, she finds herself thrust into the dangerous and alluring world of the supernatural and into the arms of two very sexy and deadly vampires.

Original, gritty and sprinkled with just the right amount of humor and wit, the Knights of the Darkness Chronicles will suck you in and take you for a ride you won't forget. You don't want to miss out on this amazing series!

My Review:
I read book 2 "The Guilty Innocent" and I had to read the rest of this series. This is an adult book, as is the whole series. This book, Desires Unleashed, unleashed a cast of great characters, a background into the different species of characters. There are wolves, leopards, sexy vampires, and humans, etc. When the non-humans start disappearing it becomes a pattern. The coven and packs start to lose their own. They are also suspects because not everyone trusts vampires and shifters.
I really liked when the characters shifted into their animal form and fought for their families and loved ones. S.U.I.T. is also introduced as a special unit that monitors supernaturals.
Natasha is strong willed and as she meets the vampires and other characters she realizes that they are not who they thought she was. She was afraid of the unknown, and as she gets to know them better she becomes attracted and curious.
The sex was steamy and descriptive. (M/M etc)
As the human bodies started to pile up, Natasha uses her ability to help catch the killer. Will they catch the killer in time? Who will hook up?
The ending was complete, and I enjoyed how all the plots were explained.
I am giving this book a 5/5. I was given a copy to review, however all opinions are my own!

I reviewed book 2 here: http://dealsharingaunt.blogspot.com/2013/03/the-guilty-innocent-by-dn-simmons-review.html

Book 3:
The Royal Flush is the third novel in the edgy, action-
packed, sexually-charged, Knights of the Darkness Chronicles.

In the third installment of this tale, the hunt is on! The coven, Pack and Pride must join forces to stop a group of big game hunters by any means necessary! Hold on to your seat as the Knights take you  on yet another wild ride that will not let you go until the last word is read and the book is closed!

Original, gritty and sprinkled with just the right amount of humor and wit, the Knights of the Darkness Chronicles will suck you in and take you for a ride you won't forget. You don't want to miss out on this amazing series!

My Review:
First, let me just say that I Friggin love this cover. The purple and the casino theme are awesome!
This book starts off with a group of people discusses a hunt. Unfortunately they are hunting the supernaturals.
There are so many people afraid of the unknown, that they would rather kill then get to know the truth. I was so exited to find out how everyone was doing. The second book left off in such a way that I was hooked.
The author did a great job of proving that different species could coexist, and help each other. As the supernaturals realize that they are being hunted, they set out to find the killers. The reoccurring characters are developed so well by this book that I felt like they were real. They each play a certain role in their group, and they each respect each other. Again the sex was HOT! and steamy. The author does a great job of keeping the scenes new and interesting. We also get to meet the oldest vampire, Kysen, and the supernaturals need his help. However will Kysen and Darian be able to get along and forget the past? Will Kysen give Darian another gift? Will the hunters get caught?
I really liked the direction this book took, and I am so happy with the ending. I can not wait to read the next book.I am really enjoying the banter between characters, and I am beginning to know when the characters are kidding around. I laughed a few times, and I hoped that the characters would stay safe. I loved that the supernatural groups are starting to pick their mates. I wonder what will happen in the next book. Will S.U.I.T. go easy on the supernaturals?
The next book is Hostile Territory and I can only imagine what will happen.
I am giving this book a 5/5. I was given a copy to review, however all opinions are my own.
This author is my new favorite, and I am a fan for life!
