Created in Fire by Donna McDonald Review!

My ART OF LOVE series is about men and women who lead complicated, intense lives honoring their creativity enough to struggle to make a living with it. The series starts around an older man with two adult sons. I wanted to show loving and good, yet imperfect males in all their glory. I wanted to show that love really can overcome many things that seem insurmountable
About the Author

After 35 years of doing everything for a living except writing books, I finally published my first romance novel in March of 2011. Ten novels later, I feel like I'm living my own “happily ever after” life as a modestly successful author who gives back to the universe by doing her best to keep several Lexington, Kentucky coffee shops in business.

I dream of selling my house and taking to the open road once I figure out how to do so without my children and grandchildren finding out. For the time being, I continue to live contentedly with my permanent fiancée of many years who helps me sneak away from real life as often as he can.

I love him dearly for it

My Review:

I am lucky enough to be reading the whole "Art of Love" series from Donna. I previously reviewed book 1: Carved in Stone here: http://dealsharingaunt.blogspot.com/2013/03/carved-in-stone-by-donna-mcdonald-book.html
This is book 2. This book is about one of the sons, Michael. In book 1 we left off with Carrie and Michael agreeing to a marriage of convenience for the sake of their baby. Carrie also gets very sick in the morning and she needs Michael's help. Yet again this is a fantastic book about family and love. The characters are older and almost all from the first book reappear. It is fun to see how they are doing.
Michael was a known bad boy. He slept around. A lot. He never really loved anyone until he slept with Carrie. However their pasts will not let Carrie love Michael in the present. He has a lot of work ahead of him if he wants her to even be able to look at him again.
Carrie has a secret from her past that she is unwilling to share. In fact she has never told anyone. Her family is also mean to her and do not approve of her marriage, even though only Michael and Carrie know it is for show. I loved to read Michael go to his brother and father for help! There is also more then one time when both families get together and there was some family drama, that was fun to read!
I am giving this book a 5/5 and I think that I know who the next book will be about.... I can't wait. I was given a copy to review, however all opinions are my own!
