ART OF LOVE Series
This series has funny moments, but hits on some very serious topics as the heroines in each book have some serious flaws and challenges. The Art of Love series also focuses on the role art plays in the characters' lives and their family relationships. It starts with three books about a family of artists consisting of the father, William Everett Larson (53), and his two adult sons, Michael Larson (34) and Shane Larson (27). I genuinely like all three of these men as heroes and think my readers will also. Each has his own appeal and the women they connect to romantically are very interesting. The other books grew from additional friends and family that popped up in the new relationships.
These books are a bit rougher emotional ride as a read, but as always, I can guarantee you a happy ending.
Book One of Art of Love Series ($2.99)

Even though his sons tease him about not dating, and his ex thinks he is still hung up on her, 53 yr old William Larson is glad he waited to date until he found 47 yr old high school art teacher, Jessica Anderson. Jessica assures Will she is incapable of love, but Will refuses to believe it. When Jessica promises him sexual fidelity, Will settles for that until he can convince her to love again.
My review:
I liked this book. A lot. I read a lot of romances that involve pregnancies and all of the issues that go along with it. This book was about getting a second chance at love. The characters are older, but I enjoyed that because Will and Jessica had to deal with their own love lives while trying to be good role models for their older children. It was a hoot to see how Will's kids gave Will a hard time. They took a liking to Jessica and it was hysterical when they had to pick sides.
The best part of this book was the transformation that Ellen took. Her Character really made me proud by the end of the book. Which is a good thing, because for awhile there , I was calling her names.
Will was a great guy character to like, his ex-wife cheated on him, and I did feel bad for him. Until he lied to Jessica and broke her heart. What an idiot. She was just starting to trust him.
This was a great book, and I read it in a day. I was hooked. I feel like a cousin of the family! I can not wait to read the rest of the series! Donna McDonald made me a lover of older than 50 romances. !! The family dynamics are so different, and the characters are so stubborn and set in their ways.
The idea of this art series was also a joy to read, and the sensuality of the carvings and other art only added to the sexual tensions between the characters. This book also showed me that past decisions follow you throughout your life. Even when you are a victim.
I am giving this book a 5/5 because I can not go any higher!
I really LOVED the cover! I still giggle whenever I see that hand!
I was given a copy to review, however all opinions are my own!
About the Author
After 35 years of doing everything for a living except writing books, I finally published my first romance novel in March of 2011. Ten novels later, I feel like I'm living my own “happily ever after”life as a modestly successful author who gives back to the universe by doing her best to keep several Lexington, Kentucky coffee shops in business.
I dream of selling my house and taking to the open road once I figure out how to do so without my children and grandchildren finding out. For the time being, I continue to live contentedly with my permanent fiancée of many years who helps me sneak away from real life as often as he can.
I love him dearly for it
My ART OF LOVE series is about men and women who lead complicated, intense lives honoring their creativity enough to struggle to make a living with it. The series starts around an older man with two adult sons. I wanted to show loving and good, yet imperfect males in all their glory. I wanted to show that love really can overcome many things that seem insurmountableSmashwords
