Never challenge a cowboy in the courtroom…
Surveying the proposed site for a high-end golf course should have been a breeze for spunky Landscape Architect Sophie Smith. But when this born-and-bred city girl is suddenly—and quite literally—swept off her feet by a sexy cowboy on horseback, she realizes that the country life has some serious (and seriously steamy!) possibilities. That is, until she finds out exactly who her smokin’-hot wrangler really is.
Cowboy and Tribal lawyer Jake Lodge is desperately trying to block the development. And if that means playing hardball—and being every inch the shark lawyer—so be it. But Sophie is a distraction he didn’t expect. A distraction that makes his blood burn.
Two different worlds. Two opposing sides. And when they finally give into the exquisite temptation, the consequences will shake the foundations of both of their lives…
My interview for the Author:
First, thanks so much
for having me over Deal Sharing Aunt today!
It’s an honor to be here, and I loved the questions!
1.
Is
this book more courtroom drama or more romance?
Romance,
romance, romance. In fact, during the
hearing scene, there’s more romance than law, if you ask me. J2. What is the ratio of country living versus city living in the book?
The entire book takes place in Montana, so it’s very much a city girl finding herself in a small, country town where everybody is involved in everyone else’s life. When somebody gives directions in this town, it usually starts with, “Go left by the elm tree where Jimmy Johnson broke his arm ten years ago, then right by the pond where the great Striped Bass was caught…”
3. Is this book part of a series?
You bet! The second book is called UNDER THE COVERS, and it features the sheriff and an artist. The book will be released in May.
4. What should we know about Sophie and Jake before we read the book?
Great question! They’re very much an ‘opposites attract’ type of couple. Sophie is from the city, while Jake loves living in a small town with meddling family members. They’re both looking for love and excitement, but neither really knows it until it smacks them upside the head. I hope readers like the spicy romance and sexual tension between them.
5. What would you like my readers to know?
Mainly that this is a sexy romance between two people who shouldn’t be perfect for each other…but are. Thanks again for having me here today!

My Review:
I hate reading westerns and cowboy stories. However this book had more sizzle and family dynamins in it, that I liked it. It was a ball to read how Jake got along with his brothers. The Courtroom scenes were also a lot of fun to read. I really enjoyed that no matter how much they tried to fight their feelings they kept being drawn to each other.
I was so happy with the end of the book, even though there was a disaster, the person that made it happen came clean. I also liked how Sophie was by the end of the book. I am giving this book a 4/5 because It was a western. There was nothing else that I disliked about the book!
My Giveaway:
Rebecca is offering up an Against the Wall coffee mug and notebook for one random commenter!
Rebecca is wondering what everybody thinks about opposites attracting. Is it true? She would love to give away an AGAINST THE WALL mug and spiral notebook to a randomly chosen commenter here.

I think opposites can attract. It depends on what the opposites are and if they can complement each other.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I do think that opposites can attract to a degree, I think you have to have common interests, beliefs, wishes, etc for a relationship to work.
ReplyDeleteI agree with June. I believe they can attract to a certain extent. You definitely have to share at least some common ground or it's too difficult to relate to one another and you'll find yourself with little to say, or just thinking each other is a weirdo. Just read the book last night and I loved it. Congrats on your new release. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks all for the input! I think that opposites can attract, but as you date and move forward they start to meld into a happy medium. :)
ReplyDeleteThey can, but there has to be some meeting in the middle otherwise your differences will drive you apart eventually
