Leda always dreaded the holiday
season until a co-worker from GUYO (Give Us Your Opinions) invited the lovely
lass to a party where she met… him. Liam
was a classic Renaissance Man whose latest job was teaching at the prestigious
BALI (Bay Area Literary Institute). Soon, Leda and Liam were loving each other
with a passion that outshone the brightest of holiday lights. But when a mash
note from a student threatens to douse their flame and leave her heartbroken,
Leda eventually confronts Liam and he leaves. Will their love survive the
wreckage of temptation? Only the brightness of their love can pull them from
the darkness of mistrust -- and back into each other’s arms.Except:
I was sitting at my desk writing Tom Swifties for bad girls
(I want to **** *** ****, she said
teasingly) when Jenna, my cubicle neighbor, announced to the room at large
she was having a party and all opinion poll takers were welcome.
Later, in the restroom (where all the truly important polls
take place), Jenna confessed she and her beau of five years were having
problems and she hoped the party would lighten her man's mood a bit.
"I just can't seem to reach him anymore," she
sighed, fastidiously applying a layer of lip gloss to her pretty mouth. "Mike used to be so much fun. Now he just wants to watch TV and play video
games. Bor-ing."
"Are you bonny in bed?"
My co-worker gave me a quizzical look. "I'm Jenna in bed."
"Never mind.
What time's the party?"
Friday night, a fortnight before the dreaded Noel, half the
females in our department were naffing about in cocktail dresses pretending
they felt right at home in Pacific Heights.
Jenna's boyfriend was a software something and owner of a very cool
condo on Clay Street. I had met him once
before though I didn't realize it until he handed me my first drink. Where had
I met him? At an office gala? The
farmer's market? Didn't matter so long
as the booze kept flowing from the still-room.
Interview:
1. What is mash note?
2. Does Leda know the students?
3. What company would you compare GUYO to?
4. What would you like my readers to know about your book?
5. Is this a stand alone or are there more books with the same
characters?
From the author:
1.
A mash note is a note or letter expressing great enthusiasm for the
recipient
2.
Leda knows BALI (Bay Area Literary Institute) is a highbrow place for learning.
Since Liam only teaches part-time there she doesn't get too involved with his
academic life. She goes a little crazy when a student pursues Liam; a lack of
trust always puts a big strain on a relationship.
3.
I wouldn't want to compare GUYO to a specific company; our society is too
litigious. Suffice it say I've worked my share of crummy jobs!
4.
The book was born out of a desire to create more love in the world.
5.
This is a stand alone. My book Inviting Trouble: BDSM Romance is a
book of linked stories featuring recurring characters. I'm working on
serialized fiction for Peaches Magazine (peachesmag.com) where I have also
published articles on sex and love. I like the idea of bringing back characters
but for the most part I focus on stand alones.
