As a family, we used to all dress up and hand out candy in our frontyard cemetery. One year we had a scarecrow sitting on a lawn chair as a decoration for 3 weeks and then the night of Halloween we put my brother in the scarecrow's place (and it's clothing). When my brother moved EVERYONE who came by screamed and ran!!

ReplyDeleteWhen I was a kid we had a group of 6 of us that lived on two blocks. We all went out trick or treating, half the time with winter coats over our costumes, and would end at someone's house to sort and trade our candy. One of their parents also threw a great Halloween party with bobbing for apples and dry ice effects.

I work at the public library, and we have a kids Halloween party where they dress up and know on different office and supply doors as a way of trick or treating. The workers stand behind each door and give them a piece of candy.
