Serrano is brilliant! Her words grab your interest. This is a real page turner, and one you can’t put down. Serrano’s writing is very versatile. This story combines action, romance, and suspense with many twists and turns. She will have you at the edge of your seat and keep you guessing where the adventure will lead. I highly recommend!

This book was so exciting to read . Judy Serrano is a talented person and author. She writes books in a way that draws you into the story from the first page to the last. I love the characters in Unorganized Crime. It is a stand alone book but if you have not read the Easter’s Lilly series you need to. The way she writes her book makes you feel like you are part of the story and I absolutely like that. The way she makes you feel connected with the character’s. I hope to read more books about Jazz and Gage !!!

Interview:

Where are you from?

I am originally from New York, but I live in the Dallas area. You know what they say though: you can take the girl out of New York, but you can’t take the New York out of the girl.

Tell us your latest news?

I just released my latest Mafia romance novel, Unorganized Secrets. It is the second installment of Unorganized Crime.

When and why did you begin writing?

I have always been creative. I have written poems, songs and novels since I was 12 years old. However, I published my first book in 2010. I remember sitting in my college class watching the students read the Twilight Series. A lightbulb went on in my head somewhere, and I thought to myself, “I can write a book.” Twelve novels later…

When did you first consider yourself a writer?

I didn’t really consider myself a writer until I published my first novel back in 2010. It was Easter’s Lilly.  Even now as I move forward with new books, I still carry forward some of her characters. I think I got too attached.

What inspired you to write your first book?

I wanted to write my own story about my life, but I don’t tell my characters where to go, they tell me. Before I knew what happened, the Mafia took over.

Do you have a specific writing style?

I do have a specific writing style. I always write in the first person, my chapters are cliff hangers, and I use simple language. I want to encourage people to read, so I try to make it a fun, easy ride.

How did you come up with the title?

My latest books, Unorganized Crime and Unorganized Secrets just came to me as I was writing the book. This particular crime family thought they were so organized but apparently, not so much.

Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?

My message is always the same. When good vs. evil, good always wins.

How much of the book is realistic?

The love stories are very realistic. A young girl who can’t have Mr. Right, so she turns to Mr. Right Now is very common. I love when Mr. Right decides he’s ready to commit. Is it too late? Only time will tell.

Are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?

For this project, no. However, I can’t say that is true for all my other novels.

What books have most influenced your life most?

Hunger Games and Twilight for sure. However, I do tend to lean towards Mafia romances nowadays.

If you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor?

Nora Roberts, Stephanie Tyler, and Maya Banks have been considerable influences in my writing career.

What book are you reading now?

I am reading Cala Riley’s books right now, and I cannot put them down.

Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?

Once I am finished with Riley’s books, I will search for my next Mafia romance.

What are your current projects?

I have a new book started, but I don’t know quite where it is going yet. Like I said before, my characters tell me what they want to do, not the other way around.

Name one entity that you feel supported you outside of family members?

Definitely, my readers. I have had requests to put book two of Unorganized Crime out, so I created one. Spoiler alert: There will be room for a book three.

What would you like my readers to know?

If you pick up one of my books, you will not be able to put it down.
