The guy of my dreams sweeps me off my feet and over my handlebars, quite literally. But our budding relationship takes a turn when my troubled past resurfaces, shattering any hope for a future. Now, I feel like a hollowed-out version of myself. Memories of piercing blue eyes and sweeping blond hair are all that remain to get me through a day.
I know I have to make peace with my past to move forward into my future. But am I strong enough?
Dash Richmond
I’m the tenth child of affluent older parents, confident, and privileged. But the future they see for me isn’t how I want to live my life. A chance encounter with a guy my polar opposite changes my path indefinitely, leading me to the life I’ve always wanted.
When he’s ripped away from me, I vow to wait for his return. Now I’m stuck in limbo, unwilling to give up on him.
Can the friction of life destroy what they shared or is your first true love like gravity—an unending universal law?
The Gravity Series is an unforgettable whirlwind romance chronicling the love of two men over three decades. Friction heats up the scene with passionate alpha males who navigate the often-rocky road to love. Love’s rarely easy, but when it’s true, it’s a battle worth fighting for.
1. What literary pilgrimages have you gone on?
Gosh,
that’s a hard question right out of the gate. 😊 My writing
career started by accident. Truly. And if I can write, anyone can write.
Sixteen years ago, I lost my daughter to a drunk driver. I took it really hard
and turned to devouring books to keep my thoughts focused. I read and read to
distract myself. Accidently, I found that writing kept the story in my mind
longer, keeping me centered and focused – a great man explained to me, keep
your mind busy because you can’t think of two things at once. Turns out that’s
very true. With lots a trial, error, education, and a winding road, books began
to be written and released and here we are today.
2. What is the first book that made you cry?
I’m
not a crier but the first real book I read was Judy Blume’s Forever. The book
was passed around my junior high. It created a life long love for romance of
all kinds. I like it all, it doesn’t have to have a happy ending, just a
forever love. It was really great.
What’s your first book that made you cry?
Both.
The beginning of a story is exciting. By the end, I never want to read that
story again. The process is difficult. Writing, editing, book covers,
marketing, reviews, it’s a lot. It’s sometimes hard to willingly go back to
creating a story because its such a consuming process.
Distractions
by my family and friends. If I hear the word “Mom” one more time… 😊
5. Did you ever consider writing under a
pseudonym?
I’ve
chosen to write under my daughter’s name. I wanted this to be an ode to her
life. Surprisingly, I feel like I extended her life. Maybe not the life she’d
chose herself, but still something special.
6. What other authors are you friends with, and
how do they help you become a better writer?
The
writers I chose to be friends with are all better than me. I have serious
respect for Cambria Hebert. I’m such a fan. I also really like AE Via for the
same reasons.
7. Do you want each book to stand on its own, or
are you trying to build a body of work with connections between each book?
Both
maybe? I try hard to write every book as a standalone, but I also toss easter
eggs in my stories, other characters come forward all the time. I did a little
graphic I’ll share with you about my books.
Answer
this: Which of those do you prefer to read? Standalone or connected books?
8. What authors did you dislike at first but grew
into?
Definitely
Nora Roberts. I felt her books were too small.
9. What’s your favorite under-appreciated novel?
I
don’t follow what’s popular. I read based on covers and description. I really
like Taylor Rylan.
10. As a writer, what would you choose as your
mascot/avatar/spirit animal?
I
really like the white tigers and lions, but baby elephants are pretty adorable.
11. How many unpublished and half-finished books
do you have?
So
many. SOOOO many. 😊
12. What did you edit out of this book?
I
rewrote the first 20,000 words in Friction. They didn’t feel right.
13. If you didn’t write, what would you do for
work?
I
had a floral/catering/corporate gift shop. It was just always so much work.
14. Do you hide any secrets in your books that
only a few people will find?
Absolutely.
Lots of easter eggs.
15. What is your favorite childhood book?
I
can’t remember the books name, but I remember so much of the story is stuck in
my head.
