Half Fae. Half Demon. 100% Badass Bitch.

My sisters and I weren’t born with magic. No, we were forced into it. Betrayed into it by the one person who was supposed to protect us. Now we’re living in a shithole desert town at the mercy of a sexy-as-hell Fae named Bastian.

So far, I’ve been able to buy Violet and Jade time to live freely, without being held to Bastian’s constant call. I’ve been doing his dirty work for five long years, but my sisters’ freedom is wearing thin. Soon he’ll summon them, just as he did me—and I can’t let that happen.

Bastian’s latest assignment offers an escape for my sisters, and I’d be a fool not to take it. But my target is more powerful than any man I’ve faced before, and doubly seductive. He draws out my inner demons—literally—and evading this attraction might prove more difficult than finishing what I started.

Interview
Where are you from?
Southern California, born and raised.
Tell us your latest news?
Well, Gravestones & Wicked Bones, the first book in the Shadow Creatures Series comes out this month! I’ve also got the second book in my Relic Keeper Series releasing in July and many other things coming this summer and fall.
When and why did you begin writing?
It sounds like the answer you always hear, but I love to tell stories. It hit a certain point in my life where I couldn’t get them to quiet down. These characters and ideas had formed and grown and they needed an outlet.
When did you first consider yourself a writer?
Ha! I don’t know. I still consider myself aspiring. I think once I am doing it as a career, I’ll consider myself a ‘writer’.
What inspired you to write your first book?
The first home my husband and I bought. There was this beautiful golf course behind us right against the mountains. Every night during the fall, the lake would fill with a mist and I constantly imagined something nefarious coming out. I wondered what kind of a hero could be scarier than the dark creatures within the mist. The next day, ‘Dark Summoner’ was born.
Do you have a specific writing style?
I don’t think so. I just do it ‘my way’ and hope that people enjoy it. J
How did you come up with the title?
Well, honestly I don’t remember. I think it was literally born in the middle of the night from a dream. I know, how underwhelming. J
Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?
More than anything I want readers to have fun. To experience an enjoyable escape where there will always be a happy ending. In Gravestones, our heroine faces harsh challenges. She’s been forced into a life she never wanted and she has to find a way to adapt and find happiness. I think I want to remind readers that there are always people out there who won’t disappoint you. People who stand up for what’s right. No matter the dark challenges you face, happiness is possible.
How much of the book is realistic?
Ha! Well, I think the world of Gravestones could be realistic (if you believe in the supernatural). The desert setting is definitely referencing a small desert town in Southern California. I think the most realistic part is the characters and the challenges they face. We all battle demons, we all want happiness.
Are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?
Hmm. Yes and no. There was a moment in my life where betrayal by someone I trusted put a gigantic wall up around me. I kept assuming everyone ‘wanted something’ from me. Ivy (our heroine) definitely knows this pain.
What books have most influenced your life most?
The Fever Series, Jane Austen, Charlaine Harris.
If you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor?
Nalini Singh – hands down!
What book are you reading now?
The Hundredth Queen
Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?
Absoltuely! Rebecca Hamilton, Kel Carpenter, Jasmine Walt, T.F. Walsh, Katrina Snow.
What are your current projects?
Oh geez! A TON of projects are on the horizon. Obviously the next books in the Shadow Creatures Series, A dragon centric urban fantasy, two fae books, some vampire stories, the remaining books in the relic keeper series and so much more!
What would you like my readers to know?
That I really appreciate them taking the time to read my interview and check out my upcoming release, Gravestones & Wicked Bones! For release date notifications they can join my email list. I also have book one of my relic keeper series FREE at the moment.

Thank you so much for having me!
