Lifestyles of the small-town famous

Forced to leave Nashville after a scandal, Savannah Walters has come home to Slippery Rock, Missouri, with a bruised ego and her singing career in jeopardy. As if that isn't humiliating enough, on her way into town she's rescued by her swoon-worthy childhood crush, Collin Tyler.

His hands are full running the family orchard and dealing with his delinquent teen sister, so Collin doesn't need to get involved with someone as fiery and unpredictable as Savannah. But the intense attraction between them can't be denied. And when disaster strikes, they'll both be surprised by who's still standing when the dust settles.

About the Author
Once upon a time, Kristina Knight spent her days running from car crash to fire to meetings with local police--no, she wasn't a troublemaker, she was a journalist. Her career took her all over the United States, writing about everything from a serial killer's capture to the National Finals Rodeo. Along the way, she found her very own Knight in Shining Cowboy Boots and an abiding love for romance novels. And just like the characters from her favorite books, she's living her own happily ever after.

Kristina writes sassy contemporary romance novels; her books have appeared on Kindle Best Seller Lists. She loves hearing from readers, so drop her a line!

Interview from Deal Sharing Aunt
By Kristina Knight

How long does it take you to write a book? – It kind of depends on the books – some characters are more talkative than others! – but generally speaking anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks for a rough draft. Then edits and polishing. For a book to be ready for publication, about 3 months. Some are faster, some a bit slower, but that’s how it usually works for me.

What would you say is your interesting writing quirk? – That I can’t write in the same place all the time. There are days when the words flow when I’m at the computer, but there are other days when I need to be outside, or have noise around (our local Starbucks works then), and there are times I need quiet, but I need to be out of our house – that’s when the library comes in handy!

Where do you get your information or ideas for your book? – The ideas come from everywhere, and from there, I do some research online (my background as a journalist comes in handy!), or I ask questions of friends who have lived in the area where I want to set a book. And never discount the experts – I’ve interviewed our doctor, friends who work with our local children’s services office, and so many more!

What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your book? – That Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD), which is something that Savannah deals with, can last well into adulthood. I knew that adoption was a rocky road, especially for families who adopt older children, but I didn’t know all of the issues that foster children must deal with. It just breaks my heart!

What do you think makes a good story? – Great characters, an interesting plot, and a little shenanigans (both in the bedroom and out of it!).

What would you like my readers to know? – That I’m so very excited about this new series. I’ve wanted to write a small town series for a while, and I’ve also wanted to write about the kind of town where I grew up – so I set Slippery Rock in a small lake town in Missouri…and from there, fictionalized like crazy!
