Excerpt from Cursed Rebel by H.G. Lynch:
Looking at the faery boy in front of me, with his exquisite features and striking eyes, I thought that Grandma had been right. I was realising she had been right about a lot of things. I wished I’d listened to her better, wished I’d believed her when she warned me about the Fair Folk.
Staring into those inhumanly bright eyes, seeing the glitter of something cruel beneath that prettiness, I whimpered. I didn’t mean to, and the second I did, I wished I hadn’t. I couldn’t show fear there, or the beautiful monsters would tear me apart like well-disguised lions.

Interview from Vicky @ Deal Sharing Aunt:

Where are you from? Aberdeen, in the North East of Scotland. Very windy. Lots of rain.
Tell us your latest news? I’ve had six books released this year, and I’ve got four more to come by the end of the year.
When and why did you begin writing? I started writing when I was fifteen, as a way to escape the bullying I suffered at school.
When did you first consider yourself a writer? When I got my first book published at 18.
What inspired you to write your first book? Bullies. And Toby Hemingway. I mean, have you seen that man? Gorgeous. I also wanted to create a version of myself that could fight back against the bullies.
Do you have a specific writing style? I just put my fingers on the keyboard and let the story flow.
How did you come up with the title? For Cursed Rebel? Well. It’s pretty obvious once you read the book.
Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp? Don’t trust faeries? Always listen to your Grandma?
How much of the book is realistic? Well it’s a fantasy set in the Otherworld, so it depends on your point of view I guess.
Are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life? Not really. The characters have their own lives.
What books have most influenced your life most? Lemony Snicket’s Series of Unfortunate Events. That series appealed to my macabre side and showed me you could make a book as dark and creepy as you like.
If you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor? LJ Smith. Her Vampire Diaries books inspired my writing “voice” I guess. My first attempt at writing was a fan-fiction of her Forbidden Game Trilogy.
What book are you reading now? I have a few on the go but my main read at the moment is Ink and Bone by Rachel Caine.
Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?  Elizabeth Montgomery’s Scarred is incredible.
What are your current projects? Um, like six different stories. I have too many ideas at the minute.

What would you like my readers to know? Read my books! :D But seriously, books are a wonderful thing. They can teach us a lot. They’re more than ink on paper. They’re worlds inside pages.
