Interview:
1.
When did you first
realize you wanted to be a writer?
I always loved to write, but three years ago, I decided to do it
professionally.
2.
How long does it take
you to write a book?
In my case, I usually take six months to write a novel, and some
more time to edit it, before saying, “Okay, it’s ready for the readers’ eyes.”
3.
What is your work
schedule like when you're writing?
As I’m an active lawyer, my schedule must work around my juridical
life, so I write whenever I can. I write at least a little bit every day.
4.
What would you say is
your interesting writing quirk?
The surprises I prepare for the reader on every page.
5.
How do books get
published?
It’s a long process…You can try to get a publisher, or do it on
your own. I published with a regular publisher at first, and then I decided to
go independently.
6.
Where do you get your
information or ideas for your books?
I do a lot of research, I buy articles from universities, I have a
wonderful friend who’s a former special agent to enlighten me about police
information, I search the ‘net, read books…I go through a long process before I’m
ready to write.
7.
When did you write your
first book and how old were you?
My first book was written when I was ten years old, but I
destroyed it, because I didn’t want people to read it. As a kid, I was not
prepared to explain where my ideas came from.
8.
What do you like to do
when you're not writing?
I
love to read and to watch movies, I love to dance, whenever I can, I also work
out almost everyday.
9.
What does your family
think of your writing?
They
are very supportive, but they also complain about not having much time free for
them.
10.
What was one of the most
surprising things you learned in creating your books?
How imagination is unlimited.
11.
How many books have you
written? Which is your favorite?
So far, I have two books written and published—Behind The Door, and its sequel, Lara’sJournal. I’m working on a third
one.
12.
Do you have any
suggestions to help me become a better writer? If so, what are they?
Write everyday a little bit, for yourself, and the more you write,
the better you will do. The phrase “practice leads to perfection” means a lot
for us writers.
13.
Do you hear from your
readers much? What kinds of things do they say?
Yes, I love to talk to them, and I try to answer to everybody. I
hear so many different things, from supportive comments and compliments, to one
reader who said to me: “I want to make love to you. Of course, he was confusing
me with my main character, Lara, but that was funny.
14.
Do you like to create
books for adults?
I love to! Since I don’t have kids, the universe of adults is more
confortable for me.
15.
What do you think makes
a good story?
Surprises! I believe the reader must be surprised by the story.
16.
As a child, what did you
want to do when you grew up?
Depending on the phase, I wanted to be an astronaut, a scientist, an
engineer, a Formula
1 [SS1] pilot, and a thousand other things.
17.
What Would you like my
readers to know?
That I love their opinions! I love to know what they think about
my novels. The other day, a reader asked for one of the characters to
experience more of a love life, so I’m thinking about that for the third novel
of the series.
