Read an excerpt:
Author Bio:Glenn Shepard’s first novel, Surge, was written while he was still a surgical resident at Vanderbilt. In the following years he wrote The Hart Virus, a one-thousand-page epic about the AIDS crisis, as well as three other novels. In 2012, he created “Dr. Scott James,” his Fugitive-like action-hero, and began publishing a series. The first volume of the Dr. Scott James series was The Missile Game, followed shortly afterward by The Zombie Game. The third of the series, The Ebola Game, is due out in December, 2015. Though the books contain many of the same characters, they don’t have to be read in order. Each can be read as a stand-alone.
There are very few things that can destroy a world. Ebola is one of them. I must admit that Ebola scares the crap out of me. The author definitely has a knack for writing about human extermination. His previous books, including zombies, can testify to that. I really liked the idea of immunity because of a voodoo doctor. I loved reading about voodoo ways. This novel is down to earth with today's technology, like Skype for example. A bomb outside a hospital is also scary. All the blood and all the diseases that are now airborne. All the emergency care professionals that died. Not to mention the loss of lives inside the hospital. The bad guy, and ISIS is really starting to mess with Dr. James. Will this be the final straw? I am giving this book a 5/5. I was given a copy, all opinions are my own.
