Nathanael
Wind bristles
through the trees as the moon casts a ghostly glow over the silent woods. The
sounds of the Earth make their way to Nathanael while he’s sitting on the edge
of the windowsill with one knee bent. His skillful eyes survey the black trees
surrounding the little farmhouse. The peaceful street causes him to relax,
leaning slightly off his knee. His nose rises to meet the breeze. The air has
changed. The cold has actually turned into a scent: crisp and earthy. The edges
of the leaves have started to turn a shade of red. A grunt brings his attention
back inside the room. Placing a leg on the ground, he examines the tree line
one last time for good measure before climbing to his feet. If the Lord is
testing him, he sure doesn’t plan on failing. Sera begins to toss and turn on
her bed. The covers tangle between her legs. This happens every once and a
while. Sometimes he’ll catch her mumbling something, but tonight she just rolls
back onto her side. Gibberish escapes her lips. Nathanael takes a few steps
closer, propping himself onto the foot of her sleigh bed. He assumes his
crouched position, always ready to pounce. Things on Earth are so…
unpredictable. His eyes dart over her shadowed furniture.
With another
groan, her head flips to the other side. “Demons,” she gasps, loud enough for
him to make out. His wings extend in response to the word. The heat swirls
inside the palm of his hands readying himself. It only takes one swooping flap
of his wings before he is airborne, hovering above her.

the Author:
Sheena is a born and raised New
Yorker, even her writing can't seem to hide her hard sarcasm. She claims
destiny has lead her back to her true passion for writing.
She constantly strives to be a
positive role model and writes stories that empower and inspire. Sheena always
roots for the underdog, believes in love at first sight, and that everyone
should have their happily ever after.
While God is currently still
writing her love story, she continues to put all her effort into her writing as
she is constantly getting new inspiration.

Interview
Where
are you from? I’m a born & raised New Yorker. So
I swear like a sailor, have absolutely no patience, drive like a maniac and
have an unnatural addiction to coffee.
Tell
us your latest news? I have re-released my first book in a
paranormal series- Seraphina’s Awakening. It’s the beginning of a four book
series with a spin off series planned.
When
and why did you begin writing? I think I’ve always
been writing. Since high school I had kept a diary. I found I’m better at
expressing myself on paper than in person. One night after a crazy dream I had,
I decided to write an actual story. The rest is history.
When
did you first consider yourself a writer? That moment you
first hold a paperback in your hands. That’s what really makes everything worth
it.
What
inspired you to write your first book? A crazy dream I had.
Much like Seraphina in my series, I have dreams that give me an escape from
everyday life.
Do
you have a specific writing style? I don’t think so.
When I write it’s usually after a day dream of a scene and I have to jot it
down before I can forget. So, maybe my style is jumbled nonsense of ideas until
the editing stage.
How
did you come up with the title? Oh, titles are the
best for me. I love them! For this particular book, it just worked. Seraphina
is awakening from… well, I’ll let you find out.
Is
there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?
Always! Everything happens for a reason. Don’t give up. I specialize in coming
of age stories, no matter what that age may be.
How
much of the book is realistic? Well, this book is a
little far-fetched. But, I’m always intrigued by paranormal stories and what is
happening in the regular (muggle) world. So, my contemporary series The
Discovering Trilogy has some cross over scenes into the paranormal.
Are
experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?
Besides my crazy dreams. No. Unfortunately, my life is not this exciting.
What
books have most influenced your life most? Where do I
begin? The Harry Potter series will always be a classic favorite. The book that
influenced my book the most, I would have to say Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick. Maybe even Intuition from Amy Bartol. I love a good Fallen Angel romance
story.
If
you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor?
JK Rowling is such an inspiration to women writers. I just idolize her as a
writer and a person.
What
book are you reading now? I’m trying to get through the Game
of Thrones Series. I’m on the fourth one Feast of Crows! I needed my GOT fix to
hold me over until next year’s season.
What
are your current projects? Well, I have to finish the
Seraphina Series. I’m also working on a spin off series that may be a little
more … evil.
I’m also working on Recovering Regan, the third book
in my contemporary series. There’s always other projects on the back burner,
but there is plenty more to come from me don’t you worry!

would you like my readers to know?
Authors love to hear from you! Don’t ever feel
intimidated. Especially Indie Authors, that’s why I stay indie I want to be a
