Where are you from? I am from Kansas City, Missouri

Tell us your latest news? The third book in the Country Club Murders just released and I am thrilled. Ellison’s adventures (misadventures?) continue.

When and why did you begin writing? I got serious about the learning the craft of writing fiction in 2012, got an agent in 2013, my first book sold in 2014, and was published in 2015.

When did you first consider yourself a writer? I wrote for magazine articles before
I wrote fiction so I’ve considered myself a writer for years.

What inspired you to write your first book? Since I was twelve, I wanted to be a writer. Life—job, marriage, kids—happened (and I loved every moment of it) but I decided the time was right to write my book.

Do you have a specific writing style? I think I’m light-hearted and funny.

How did you come up with the title? Clouds in my Coffee can mean so many things. To me it is the inability to see clearly.

Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp? If there’s a theme to Clouds, its that family is all important.

What would you like my readers to know? I hope that readers laugh when they read my books and that they enjoy every minute of them.

She is a Kansas City native who grew up on a steady diet of Agatha Christie.
