River Stone, a Cryptid hunter for Legends and Myths Police Squad (L.A.M.P.S.), poses as a sheriff for Abby’s hometown of Haber Cove, New Jersey. He’s out to find and capture a man-eating gnome and bag the legendary Jersey Devil monster. Little does he realize, the woman who catches his heart is the same creature that he was sent to destroy.

Tempting the Light is the first novel in the L.A.M.P.S. series that features hunky secret agents who find true love while hunting and slaying dangerous Cryptids.

Interview
Where are you from?
I’m from the Chicago area but now I live in northern Illinois by the Wisconsin boarder.
Tell us your latest news?
Today is my debut book release called TEMPTING THE LIGHT.
When and why did you begin writing?
I wrote my first book in second grade. I started back up when I became an empty nester about five years ago.
When did you first consider yourself a writer?
When I finished my first manuscript and wrote another.
What inspired you to write your first book?
I loved to read and wanted to write unique stories.
Do you have a specific writing style?
I see my story as a movie. I tend to be very visual.
How did you come up with the title?
I wanted my titles to reflect the series and be related to each other. The acronym for Legends and Myth Police Squad is LAMPS so I chose Light to be the common denominator. My heroine temps my hero therefore my story’s name became Tempting The Light.
Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?
There are a few subtle messages. The main one is sometimes we need help from our friends. There is also a very minor one about adopting pets from shelters and rescues.
How much of the book is realistic?
Everything except the gnome, Jersey Devil, genie, and the mime J
Are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?
I’m very lucky to have a group of friends that have been my friends since grade school. I based Abby’s and Pepper’s friendship off of that experience.
What books have most influenced your life most?
I used to read Michael Crichton and Stephen King but Twilight introduced me to paranormal romance. After reading the series I just couldn’t get enough of the genre.
If you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor?
Terry Spear has been a great friend and mentor to me. We met when we roomed together at a RWA conference. I’ve learned more about writing and the business from her than anyone else.
What book are you reading now?
The Dirt on Ninth Grave by Darynda Jones
Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?
There are so many wonderful new authors out there. I really enjoyed Viking Warrior Rising by Asa Maria Bradley.
What are your current projects?
I’m currently working on the second LAMPS book called Pursuing the Light. Here’s a blurb.
L.A.M.P.S. hunter Leif Gunther grew up as an only child. He has a system for keeping order in his life while hunting Cryptids. He enjoys the solitude and quiet the job provides. Until a chatty redhead is assigned to assist him in his quest for the vicious Sheepsquatch in West Virginia and his systemized life gets turned upside down.
Cleaning up after Cryptids is not Holly McClure’s favorite job. She’d rather be hunting like her four brothers. But when she finds evidence that a pack of Abbagoochie’s are present an opportunity presents itself and she seizes it with both hands. Not to mention she gets to be pared up with the strong silent Leif Gunther, the man she’s been crushing on for the last five years.
Leif just has three rules. Keep quiet, stay out of my way, and don’t touch my stuff. Too bad Holly can’t help breaking them repeatedly. Drawn together by the chase, Leif and Holly find that if they work together they make a great hunting team and their passion grows as they pursue their prey.
What would you like my readers to know?

I really appreciate the opportunity to be interviewed on your blog. I know life is super busy for everyone nowadays. If you want to read a fun read and escape life for a few hours, please check out TEMPTING THE LIGHT. Thank you for reading my interview.
