Interview:
1.
How long does it take
you to write a book?
It all depends on how many distractions and the week. Typically I
can write about 10k - 14K a week without life interference. With it can take me
3 to 4 weeks to write a 30K novella.
2.
What is your work
schedule like when you're writing?
During the work week, I get up at 5:00 AM, have coffee and see
Hubby off to work. Then I check email and browse Facebook while the coffee is
working its magick. By 7 AM I’m open my current WIP and start writing. 8 AM is
Bella’s (my granddaughter) breakfast time. From 8:30 – 11:00 I balance writing
with Bella. 11:00-12:00 is lunch. After I write some more while Bella naps.
When she gets up I usually do admin/office stuff the rest of the afternoon. I
try to stop working at 5 PM. But my muse usually pulls me back to the computer
after Bella goes to bed.
3.
Where do you get your
information or ideas for your books?
I write paranormal and fantasy mostly, so it comes from my head. I
do reach some real life stuff that I add into the stories, like info for the
character’s job or profession. When I started writing Ashwood Falls, I did
research about different animals and their behaviors. My go to place for
research if Google.
4.
When did you write your
first book and how old were you?
I wrote a play with a friend in junior high School. She’d write
one act, I’d write the other. It was fun. I wish I still had it.
My first book was Forgotten Visions (The Divinities book 1) in
2010.
5.
What was one of the most
surprising things you learned in creating your books?
That I love it more than I ever dreamed and I’m pretty great at
it. *smiles*
6.
How many books have you
written? Which is your favorite?
Since being published in 2012, I’ve written 27 books. I can’t pick
a favorite. They are all my babies.
7.
Do you have any
suggestions to help me become a better writer? If so, what are they?
Write what you love to read. Write everyday even it’s only 200
words or 1 sentence. Never listen to negative comments or reactions from
others. This is YOUR passion not theirs. Last, HAVE FUN!!
8.
Do you hear from your
readers much? What kinds of things do they say?
I talk with my readers every day. I have a FB fan club that we
chat in and I do giveaways in. I also talk with them on my FB page as well.
9.
Do you like to create
books for adults?
I love it! My favorite thing about romance is the emotions and
passion. My favorite thing about fantasy and paranormal is the world building.
