Vynasha has spent the last four years tending her mother's roses and looking after her nephew. The fire that killed their family has left her scarred and put Wyll on the brink of death. Soon the first frost will come down from the mountains and she knows this winter will be his last.
Until a strange beggar appears on the road, telling her of the majikal Source that can heal her Wyll. With nothing left to lose, Vynasha braves the forbidden Wylder Mountains to seek out a cure and her fate.
A lost kingdom is uncovered by an equally lost girl, but the castle is not abandoned as she believes. Shadows cloaking unseen eyes watch. Tapestries whisper from the hidden corners, wondering if the one to break their curse has come. And a hungry beast waits, ready to devour her soul.

About the Author
Jennifer Silverwood was raised deep in the heart of Texas and has been spinning yarns a mile high since childhood. She is the author of the Heaven’s Edge series, Stay and Silver Hollow.
Craving Beauty, Vol. 1 is a gothic romance as well as a high fantasy retelling of Beauty & the Beast. While it is a clean YA Fantasy, be prepared for a lot of mayhem and magic. And don’t be too surprised by the blood and beasts, or cloak and dagger. In the end, Craving Beauty is about finding courage and your own inner beauty despite all obstacles. Hope you will join me in Vynasha’s journey!
Interview from Deal Sharing Aunt
1. How
long does it take you to write a book?
Some books I have managed to write within a year of
beginning, depending on the concept. It’s a lot easier to write a
dialogue-driven romance than a fantasy epic, for example. My journey with
Craving Beauty began sometime in 2009. Publishing was still a distant dream for
me then, and I wrote the initial few chapters with lofty dreams in mind. It
took multiple drafts, edits and revisions to reach this point, six years later.
I am happy to say my typical turnaround for a novel is a
little less than one year, so y’all can expect the sequel and companion novella
in 2016!
2. What
would you say is your interesting writing quirk?
When the weather gets cold I like to wear a special
“writing jacket”, a Goodwill hand-me-down that’s more about comfort than
glamor. It’s filled with stuffing and big pockets, perfect for a long sit down
at the computer. I drew inspiration from the 90’s movie version of Little Women
and Jo’s quirky writing cap. Jo March has been one of my favorite characters
since I was little and just like Jo, I like having a piece of “luck” for long
writing sessions.
3. Where
do you get your information or ideas for your books?
Most of the ideas from my books pop into my head
randomly. Occasionally they have come from dreams or “what if?” scenarios. But
almost always I’m writing another novel on a different subject when the new
idea comes to me.
4. What
was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating Craving Beauty?
Writing Craving Beauty changed my approach on the tale of
Beauty & the Beast. In the end I discovered I wasn’t writing a love story
like I set out to do, not really. While writing Craving Beauty, love sort of
found me and that is exactly what happens to Vynasha. When we focus on what’s
really important and pursue what really matters, “happily ever after” finds us.
5. What
do you think makes a good story?
An idea, written with passion and the kind of love only a
serial killer or writer can obsessively commit to. Seriously though, a good
story simply is, just like good art.
No one can look at a piece of art and declare it good or bad, it’s all in the
eye of the beholder. Though I’ll allow the fact there are exceptions to that rule.
6. What
would you like my readers to know?
Craving Beauty, Vol. 1 is a gothic romance as well as a high fantasy retelling of Beauty & the Beast. While it is a clean YA Fantasy, be prepared for a lot of mayhem and magic. And don’t be too surprised by the blood and beasts, or cloak and dagger. In the end, Craving Beauty is about finding courage and your own inner beauty despite all obstacles. Hope you will join me in Vynasha’s journey!
