Book Description:

The dead should stay dead...

Jack Norris has just lost his best friend—who also happened to be his band's drummer—to a drunk driving accident. As he struggles to deal with the band's uncertain future and his own personal demons, those issues soon become unimportant. His dead friend has come back. And he's not showing any signs of going away. Questioning his own sanity, Jack finds his life spiraling out of control. But when a new acquaintance not only hooks him up with a drummer, but promises to help get rid of his ghostly stalker, Jack's life does a one-eighty.

Drew MacLellan, the new drummer, is more than just a new set of sticks—he's the brother of the insanely hot Jen MacLellan, who's definitely not Jack's biggest fan. Jen is nothing like the women Jack's dated in the past, but the more he gets to know her, the deeper he falls. The only problem is she's got a boyfriend. Caught between his growing attraction and the desire to do the right thing, Jack does everything he can to keep his distance. But the more he sees of her, the more he realizes he can't. He's determined to win Jen's heart, if only he can figure out how to help his dead friend rest in peace...permanently.

Interview
Where are you from? I was born and raised on Cape Cod (Massachusetts) but I currently live in the central part of the state.
Tell us your latest news? Confessions of a Punk Rocker is my newest release, which I’m really excited about.
When and why did you begin writing? I started writing at a young age—I remember enjoying creative writing assignments as a kid. Then I attempted my first novel in high school (total fail) and also used to write a lot of poetry at that age. I guess it’s just something I’ve always enjoyed.
When did you first consider yourself a writer? I completed my first novel in my early twenties, and I think that’s the first time I ever considered pursuing publication.
What inspired you to write your first book? I’ll go with my first published book, because I completed two others prior to getting published and I like to think of those as practice for the real thing, haha. So Living Dead Girl was my first real novel. The idea just sort of came to me—just a random thought about a girl getting murdered and coming back from the dead for revenge. I remember thinking, what if somehow her soul got put back in her body, making her a (somewhat) thinking zombie rather than the mindless flesh eaters we see in film and TV. The idea just hooked me in, and I ended up forming this elaborate story around it.
Do you have a specific writing style? I write in a very conversational tone. The majority of what I write is in first person POV anyway, with fairly young (early twenties) characters as the narrators.
How did you come up with the title? Like with everything else, it sort of came to me. I don’t usually start with or think too hard about titles—there’s just usually a little ‘A-HA’ moment along the way where I say, yeah, this fits.
Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp? I’m not sure I’d say there’s a message in Confessions of a Punk Rocker, but a lot of it deals with growing up and realizing you need to take responsibility for your own actions.
How much of the book is realistic? Well…the plot isn’t overly realistic. It’s partially about a guy who is haunted by his best friend’s ghost. J That said, I tried to make the characters themselves realistic. They don’t always make the right decisions, sometimes they doubt themselves, and they’re all individuals rather than cardboard cut-outs of character types.
Are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life? No, I mostly have a vivid imagination. J Although I’d be lying if I said observing other people’s mannerisms, speech, etc didn’t help shape how I write my characters. I think as a writer you have ears and eyes open all the time to the world around you. While I’d probably never model a character after a specific person, or write a story using something that happened to me, I do think ‘real life’ is research.
What book are you reading now? I’m in between books right now, although I did recently finish The Pines by Blake Crouch.
What are your current projects? I’m working on the next book in my Living Dead World series as well as an unrelated contemporary romance.

What would you like my readers to know?
