This thoughtful woman’s romance novel explores the inner life (thoughts, hopes, and doubts) of a couple as they contend with the realities of compelling relationships.
A modern-day pastiche of Jane Austen novels. Elise is a bright, beautiful law student, focused on a career and distrustful of men. She butts heads with Greg at her parents’ dinner parties. Dark, good-looking, internet-business owner, he finds Elise intriguing, so unlike the dark-haired seductive beauties he used to escort around.

I love Jane Austen, so I knew that I would really like this book. The characters are stubborn and some are so mean that I still dislike them. The wedding plot was good. One last fling is never forgotten. Greg realizes this two years later. I loved the surprise and really thought that this was their happily ever after. However the author threw in a mystery and I could not believe their luck. I related to Greg and Elise because I can relate to bad luck. The ending was good and I was glad that I got three of her books to read. Greg and Elise are in book two as well. I am giving this book a 5/5. I was given a copy to review, however all opinions are my own.
