CHANGE REIN
Author: Anne Jolin
Series: Willow Bay Stables #1
Genre: Contemporary Romance & Sports Equestrian Romance
~ SYNOPSIS ~
London Daniels is returning home to Willow Bay, Alberta, on the heels of a televised loss. She blew her shot at the Summer Olympics and cost Canada the gold medal in dressage.

During her years of training abroad, her family's stable has fallen on hard times, and thus, they’ve accepted an offer to board the racehorses of Branson Tucker, the infamous tycoon, for the winter.

London lacks conviction after her ill-fated fall. And as if returning to her hometown to watch her epic failure replay on everyone's big screen isn't torture enough, she’s expected to cater to a man with an ego bigger than her hundred-acre farm just to earn a dime.

Is London saddling up for another ride that will leave both her heart and her ass in the dirt? Or could the handsome, unwanted guest at Willow Bay Stables be her second chance to go for gold?

~ EXCERPT ~
After helping her up onto the tailgate, I grab the wine and two glasses. When I join her in the bed of the truck, I pour us each a cup and then lift my glass up to hers for a toast.

“Here’s to first dates.”

After clinking her cup with mine, she takes a delicate sip, and the rumble in my chest comes unexpectedly as she swallows the wine.

As if on cue, the radio changes, and the first twangs of Jackson Young’s “If It Ain’t Too Much To Ask” drift out across the lake.

After we set our cups down on the edge of the truck bed, her arms wrap around my neck. My palm splays over her lower back as I tuck the sweetness of her body against mine.

“You makin’ it a habit of wooing me with your dancin’ skills, cowboy?” She laughs, and the way it mixes with the song has to be the most heavenly thing I’ve ever heard.

My cheek brushes hers as we dance closer. “That depends.”

“On?” Her breath whispers against my ear.

“If it’s working or not.”

~ ABOUT THE AUTHOR ~
ANNE JOLIN

Hey y’all,
I was born and raised in Ladner, a small farm town just outside Vancouver, Canada. I grew up riding horses, shooting guns, and driving in trucks.

I never expected to be an author. A massage therapist? Yes. Take over the family construction company? Yes. But an author? No. Writing was something that snuck up on me and rooted itself into my life. It was beautiful to discover that love, and I’m truly grateful to say I’ve found my passion.

Since I’ve always been a creative person, it feels amazing to harness all of that energy and use it to tell a story I love. I enjoy incorporating bits of my real life into the stories I write. What parts are true? Hah. I’ll never tell—what would be the fun in that?

If I could leave y’all with one thing, it’s that life’s far too short to not live it out loud. Drown in your passions, hold on tight to the things that inspire you, and chase your dreams relentlessly. I can promise you without a doubt that you won’t regret it. I know I don’t.

Mad love,
Anne Jolin
xx

Interview:

1.    When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer? I’ve always enjoyed writing but I’d never considered the possibility of being an author until July of 2014. I wrote a review for a romance novel I’d just finished and the author, who is now a dear friend of mine, suggested I try writing. I am so very grateful that I listened to her.
  1. How long does it take you to write a book? Oh my, it can be anywhere from a couple weeks to six months. It really depends on how well I’m connecting to the characters sometimes that can be in direct relation to what’s going on in my personal life.
  2. What is your work schedule like when you're writing? Quite sporadic. I used to write mostly at night, but lately it seems I do my best work in the middle of the day. That being said, sometimes I can be found jotting down a paragraph in the middle of my nail appointment or getting gas because the characters just won’t quit.
  3. What would you say is your interesting writing quirk? I require absolute silence to write or I get distracted. In fact, occasionally I write with my Remmington shooting ear muffs on just to drown out sound.
  4. How do books get published? I am a self-published author, so I can only speak in that fashion but typically when a book is finished it goes through beta readers, two rounds of editing, proofreading, formatting and then it is uploaded to distributers online (ie. Amazon).
  5. Where do you get your information or ideas for your books? Sometimes I can get inspired by real people but mostly, the people and places I develop are products of my imagination.
  6. When did you write your first book and how old were you? July 2014 and I was 24 at the time.
  7. What do you like to do when you're not writing? I love to read, watch movies and spend time with my little pit-bull puppy, Ghost.
  8. What does your family think of your writing? They are incredibly supportive, although I still have yet to allow my dad to read any of them. Haha.
  9. What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your books? How many fictional people can live inside my head at one time.
  10. How many books have you written? Which is your favorite? I’ve currently written five books, but I’m not sure I could pick a favorite, they all represent such different parts of my life and I love them all uniquely for that.
  11. Do you have any suggestions to help me become a better writer? If so, what are they? Write, read, write and repeat. You will learn so much about yourself the more you write and you will be constantly inspired by the things you read, never stop doing either.
  12. Do you hear from your readers much? What kinds of things do they say? I hear from my readers almost daily and they range from great conversation to funny photos and occasionally a, “where the heck is the next book?” I love each and every one of my readers and I’m grateful to have them.
  13. Do you like to create books for adults? My books are all 18+ and I enjoy them very much.
  14. What do you think makes a good story? It’s different for everyone but if a book makes me feel, truly feel, I’ll never forget it.
  15. As a child, what did you want to do when you grew up? I wanted to be a professional horseback rider. I love horses to this day and rode them for much of my adult life.
  16. What would you like my readers to know? You’re beautiful, never apologize for being passionate about reading, it’s such an amazing thing, to read. I hope you always find solace in the pages of a book. MAD LOVE. x
