The Navy Girl Book by Scott Erickson Review

New book of Humorous Short Stories, The Navy Girl Book
Portland, OR – Award-winning author Scott Erickson has released The Navy Girl Book, a collection of short pieces of surreal humor, absurdity, twisted dialogue, non sequiturs, incongruity, unabashed silliness, strange weirdness, and puns galore.
Here are some free samples:
If the only tool we have is a bottle of whiskey, then every problem looks like we can get drunk and forget about it.
Do you have a girlfriend who believes the commercial that says, “Show her you love her with diamonds”? If so, dump her and find a girlfriend who equates love with something less expensive, like a sandwich.
Help create and sustain a healthy and positive work environment by making a commitment to not support workplace gossip, unlike that bitch Martha in accounting.
When I was a kid I loved riding my bike really fast down streets with big hills, even though my parents told me it was unsafe. They were always telling me, “We worry about what would happen if a car suddenly backed out of a driveway.” Sure enough, one day a car backed out of a driveway and ran over my parents.
Tomorrow is Bring Your Child to Work day! Help your children understand what Mommy and Daddy do all day long and why every night they feel the need to get drunk.
When I was young, I dreamed of being a cowboy. Now that I have achieved my dream, I dream of starting over with a dream of being something that pays better and doesn’t involve cows.
I had a wonderful experience last night. I met a wonderful person and we ended up making love all night long. We agreed that the sex was good enough to write home about. That’s why I’m writing to you, mom.

My Review:

This book made me laugh a lot. The puns are worth it alone. My favorite was the guy who never work on electrical, but he thinks he conduit. There are also one liners and jokes. This is definitely a great coffee table book that will keep your guests laughing. I was glad that the author grouped the humor somewhat together so that I knew where to go when I wanted to tell my friends a new joke. I am giving this book a 5/5. I was given a copy to review via Bostick, however all opinions are my own.
