Bloodrealms by Aurora Whittet Review

YA Author Aurora Whittet Releases Her New YA Fantasy Novel: Bloodrealms

Minnesota, MN - Young adult author Aurora Whittet publishes Bloodrealms, her second novel in the Bloodmark saga with glowing reviews. Bloodrealms combines Celtic mythology, werewolves and passion as the saga continues.

Werewolf princess Ashling Boru’s eighteenth birthday is only a year away, which means that she only has twelve months before she is claimed and fulfills her prophecy to unite the packs and lead her people. Her father decrees that her four suitors must fight in the Bloodrealms, the werewolves’ ancient underground fighting world, and the winner will have King Boru’s choice to win Ashling’s hand. The wolf laws are rigid and barbaric, and Ashling’s illicit love for Grey, if discovered, will mean his death. But when Ashling and Grey get trapped in the blood-soaked depths of the Bloodrealms, they find ancient horrors far greater than Ashling’s father’s rule.

With betrayal around every corner and old nemeses set to destroy Ashling, she is more divided than ever between the destiny she didn’t choose and the love that she did. To make matters worse, her decision will not only set the course of her future, but the future of her entire race.

My Review:
I have actually not read a werewolf story lately and this was a refreshing read for me. I did not read the first book, and really want to read it now for background information. This was a great world to escape to. I liked that there were obstacles to the romance and that Ashling was trying to follow her heart, but she had responsibilities to her people. There is magic, healers and people that will stop at nothing to get what they want. I really liked the map and glossary at the end. The pack reference helped me as well as I read about the different characters. This book does have a cliffhanger and I am not sure what Ashling will do. Will she succeed or is she giving up? I am giving this book a 3/5. I was given a copy to review from the author from Bostick, however all  opinions are my own,
