 My Review:

This was an amazing book. At times I felt like I wanted to cry, protect Laurel, or arrest her parents. Towards the end of the book there is a part with Laurel and her mother. While I was reading this I felt like I was having the same revelations as Laurel. I liked that this book had a powerful message. There are so many people suffering in silence, that there can never be enough awareness. I applaud this author for writing such a touch subject, even if one person reads it and learns about the cycle of violence then it is well worth it. The ending was very sweet and I liked that the author wrote a note saying that there will be a sequel. This book has so much more to it. There is a deathbed confession, the loss of a home due to the times, a grandmother's secret, abuse, and war. The author also talks about what happens after war to the soldiers. I am giving this book a 5/5. I was given a copy to review, however all opinions are my own. This book is not for all readers, due to the abuse, etc.

Giveaway: There is a giveaway for this tour. Ten (10) $10 Amazon giftcards courtesy of the author. Ends 1/23.
