Where are you from?

I'm from the tropical paradise of Florida, born and raised!

Tell us your latest news?

Well, I just released my first novel in eight years, RAINDROPS ON ROSES, which is Book One of my brand new Favorite Things Trilogy, which features a razor-sharp love triangle! And I'm SO excited for everyone to read it!

What inspired you to write your first book?

My first book was THE GREAT PRETENDER, the story of a man who lives a double life for several years, going back and forth between two separate families—and he gets away with it!

I remember thinking about how most woman who get involved with married men usually know he's married, or they find out before too long, but I got excited about exploring a high tension circumstance in which a woman never finds out, at least not for many years!

How did you come up with the title?

With RAINDROPS ON ROSES: I've always loved the Favorite Things song from "The Sound of Music" and one day the idea for a chain of high-end boutique hotels popped into my head—The Favorite Things Trilogy was born!

Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?

Indeed. Never allow yourself to be defined by, or completely dependent on, anyone—especially not a man, ladies! Some seriously crazy things can happen when a woman's not emotionally healthy and independent!

What books have influenced your life most?

In fiction, the most influential would be THE GOOD EARTH by Pearl S. Buck. I love the emotional truth and the lessons about loyalty, struggle and betrayal.

In non-fiction, it's super hard to pick just one, but I'll go with A NEW EARTH by Eckhart Tolle—a definite turning point in my life!

Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?

Absolutely! Two that stand out right now are Shilpi Somaya Gowda, author of SECRET DAUGHTER, a true gem of a read! And Lawrence Hill, author of the amazingly epic novel, SOMEONE KNOWS MY NAME! I highly recommend both—great writing!

What are your current projects?

Right now I'm plugging away on the second book of the Favorite Things Trilogy, BLUE SATIN SASHES! Very exciting!
