He was attractive, talented…and way off limits.

Heather Gadway may have been a world-class college pitcher and a top university coach, but she's a rank amateur when it comes to managing the Falcons, her father's struggling minor league team. And when it comes to managing her aggravating attraction to Garrett Wolf, their talented new pitcher. It's going to be difficult enough to make it as the first female manager in the league and prove to her overly critical father she's worthy. No distractions. No missteps. And certainly no romances with players. Everything stands between them—including their troubled pasts—even as Heather's world falls apart and Garrett's the one who's there to catch her…

Top Ten Items I Need in My Writing Nook: by Karen Rock
1.       Laptop that works. Gah! I recently had a computer meltdown that wiped out weeks of revisions. I will never again underestimate the importance of not dropping your laptop down two flights of stairs… definitely not advisable.
2.       Recliner. And not just any recliner. My husband bought me this electronic kind that lets me adjust my head, neck, back, lower spine and legs. Best birthday present, EVER.
3.       iPhone. Whenever I get a moment of writer’s block, I can just pop on Facebook or text a friend and take a little breather. Plus, I’m still waiting for George Clooney to call me back… guess now that he’s married that’s not happening, though, right?
4.       Comfort Lens light. Another great present from my hubbie. It’s this standalone light that puts out rays that mimic sunlight. It’s perfect for long winters where daylight is short. It improves mood, which is so important, because I’d otherwise wallow and watch way too much reality TV.
5.       Diet Coke… or Pepsi. I’m an equal opportunity caffeinated soda drinker. As long as it’s cold, has no calories but tastes sweet, and is within arm’s reach, I’m happy.
6.       M&Ms. Of course. You’re thinking… didn’t she just say she was worried about calories? Yes. Yes I am. But M&Ms are calorie-free…. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
7.       Calendar. Sometimes I wish it would talk. Like, “Hey- you with the blank expression on your face- don’t forget you’ve got an appointment at 10 am, line edits due and an author chat at 9 pm- so turn off the reality TV. Seriously. What would I do without it?!
8.       Fuzzy socks. I don’t know why, but my feet can never keep the same temperature for more than a half hour. It seems like I’m either pulling the furry socks on or yanking them off. Either way, I’ve got to have them close.
9.       Reading glasses. When did I start needing those? It kind of crept up on me this year when I started squinting at my new iPhone. I don’t use them for anything else, and won’t… what if I can actually read the nutrition label on my M&Ms? Shudder*
10.   My cat. His name is Angel, but I should have called him Burr. He sticks to my side like one. I love his warm body squirmed into the space between me and one of the arms of my chair. I don’t know how he’s comfortable, but I wouldn’t move him for the world.

Thank you so much for hosting me today on Deal Sharing Aunt! I wish all of you Happy Holidays J
