For those checking in, here's a little catch up: B.K. is currently assigned here in the continental United States, and I'm hoping to keep her Stateside long enough to finish working on SERPENT. The journey of writing these books has been a wonderful one for us. There was a point, after she chose to go on active duty (lo, these many years ago), that I realized the military was a whole world that was new to me. I had to either purposefully choose to enter that world, or let there be a gulf between us. CHASING EDEN began, in part, as my desire to begin to understand and her willingness to share her world.
It also began because we both love thrillers and, wow!--the chance to research Ur and Babylon and Baghdad, and the Iraq's Southern Swamplands and call it work--what a fun challenge!
B.K. was indeed on the ground during the first days of OIF (as noted by the photo of her covered in sand in the old-style uniform), but she drove past Tallil. In fact, she didn't visit Tallil/Ur until after we'd written CHASING--thankfully, her second deployment, and first visit to Ur, came in time to correct some of our geography and descriptions of the Second Sister.
(As you may probably guess, her third deployment to Iraq made her very familiar with the operating room on the base in Balad!)
In any case, welcome, new reader, to the world of Eden. We're very glad to have you with us.

My Reviews:
Book 1 Starts off with a dying woman and her last effort to find Eden. I liked that the authors included a map of where the story takes place (Iraq), and it was a lot of help with the names of places. Jaime gets her package and from that moment on is almost addicted to. She has to find out what her friend was so worried about when she died. Why was it so important? Jaime soon realizes that her friend Adara was searching for something amazing. Jaime gets pulled into the wonder of Eden's location as well. She joins Adara's brother and they race through Baghdad to find the location and stay alive. They need to stay one step ahead of the men that are ready to do anything to get what they want, especially murder. The authors did a great job in describing where they were that I could visualize where they were. I also liked that the chapters have dates, times and locations. I felt like time was running out and that they were going to get captured. The ending was not really a cliffhanger, but there were definitely not enough answers for me. I am giving book 1, Chasing Eden, a 5/5. I was given a copy to review, however all opinions are my own.
Book 2, Beyond Eden, is about Jaime and her role as an agent of Eden. She travels to Terris to figure out what is going on. She soon realizes that the kidnappings are connected and she needs to find the culprit. She did not count on the victims wanting something from her other than their freedom. It was interesting why they were the ones taken and why. This book had the same format of the chapters being dated and timed with locations. As time went on I felt like the victims were running ourt of time. Page 263 is my favorite part of this book when Jaime has to save a dying man. I am giving this book a 5/5. I was given a copy to review, however all opinions are my own.
Book 3, Treasure of Eden is when Jaime knows the location of a relic that she needs to find before her enemies do. Her life is not the only one at stake. I liked that Jaime went all over the world and she had so many different experiences. It was very interesting and the clock was ticking. I also was having an inner debate as the authors had characters debate issues that are relevant to today. This was my favorite so far because I like hidden relics and I would love to see this series as a movie. I could see it doing very well with fans of The DaVinci Code. I am giving this book a 5/5. I was given a copy to review, however all opinions are my own.
Book 4, Plagues of Eden is my favorite of the series so far. I loved Merlin, and the plagues. Every time I think that the authors have nowhere new to go with these characters I am wrong. A dig in Egypt sent fury from above to people that were ignorant to what was happening. This is the last book and I do not know when the next book is coming out, But I will be getting it. A lot of times series seem to change with each book and there are no traces of the first book. However these books have many links between them and they are all written in the same format. I really enjoyed the fast pace and interesting relics. I am giving this book a 5/5. I was given a copy to review, however all opinions are my own.
