Book Excerpt:
I considered. “You at least earned the chance to tell me what I don’t know.”

He took my hand in his, like he had so many times before. This time he kissed my fingertips, his eyes closing as he did. “I have a lot to tell you. More than any single interrogation might reveal.”

I squeezed his hand. “I shouldn’t have to interrogate you for the answers.”

He sucked in a breath. “No. Of course you shouldn’t. There’s so much I need to tell you if you’re really going to get to know me.” He reached up and traced the curve of my cheek with his fingertip. “Yet I feel like you know me better than anyone.”

“I do know you,” I said. “I just don’t know the facts about you.”

His gaze shied away from mine. “Many of the facts are sordid.”

My Review:
This is adult erotica novel, and for adults only. I liked that the characters were trying to make it work, and they agreed to be honest. Lying and omitting the truth are two different things, however omitting the truth can be seen as a lie. Karina loved James and was willing to give up certain things in her life (privacy, control, etc) and James was ready to show her new things. This is the second book in the series and the first book introduces Lord Lightening. I would have liked to have read how Karina first met Lord Lightening, and not have felt like I was missing an important event in their lives. Karina's mother said "There is a big difference between wanting a man, and needing a man". That seemed to be the main theme of this book. Yes, Karina wanted James, but did she need hi, and all his baggage? Was it worth her heart? What if she got hurt again? Will she ever get him to open up and answer her questions? The ending was interesting, and I would love to see what happens next. I am giving this book a 4/5. I was given a copy to review, however all opinions are my own.
