In
Katie Rose’s irresistible battle of wits, a case of mistaken identity lands a
female fan in bed with a sexy superstar—and in major-league trouble.
House-sitting for a rich and famous friend has its perks, and Darcy Hamel isn’t shy about enjoying them. Especially when it means scoring a ticket to an exclusive fashion show hosted by the New Jersey Sonics. An avid baseball fan, Darcy has always dreamed of meeting the team—especially the starting pitcher whose body is as hot as his fastball. But there’s a catch. The gala is by invitation only. To get behind the velvet rope, mild-mannered Darcy will have to pose as party girl Lydia Logan.
Schmoozing is one of the downsides of fame, but Chase Westbrook knows how to liven up even the dullest event. And nothing spices a night up more than a beautiful socialite with a naughty reputation. What Chase doesn’t expect is a hint of sweetness beneath her sultry façade. Flirtation turns to seduction and leaves him aching for more. Chase just doesn’t know who the real Lydia is: the spoiled tease crying foul over some missing diamonds or the alluring woman making a play for his heart.

Q&A with Deal Sharing Aunt
Where are
you from?
Clementon,
New Jersey. I’m a Jersey girl.
Tell us
your latest news?
I am an
author of 12 historical romances, a couple of short stories and a novella. My
first contemporary romance, BRING ON THE HEAT, will debut at the end of August.
It is the first of a series of baseball romances. I just finished the second,
which will come out in January.
When and
why did you begin writing?
I won an
award in grammar school for a short story, so I guess I’ve always been writing.
Like most authors, I was a reader first.
What
inspired you to write your first book?
I was
reading a lot of historical romances and decided to try writing one myself. I
sold TWILIGHT ECSTASY To Zebra and was hooked.
Do you have
a specific writing style?
I prefer
funny stories to sad ones. I think laughter is a great stress release.
How did you
come up with the title?
In BRING ON
THE HEAT, the hero is a pitcher For the New Jersey Sonics. BRING ON THE HEAT
was a great play on words.
Is there a
message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?
BRING ON
THE HEAT is ultimately about being your authentic self. It’s something we all
struggle to do.
How much of
the book is realistic?
I think the
baseball parts are realistic. The storyline is admittedly a Cinderella type.
Are
experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?
Yes. My
daughter is a jewelry designer for manufacturer in New York. She and I attended
the charity event sponsored by the Philadelphia Phillies. That sparked the idea
for BRING ON THE HEAT.
What books
have most influenced your life most?
TO KILL A
MOCKINGBIRD. Atticus Finch was so kind and decent human being. To me he is the
epitome of character.
What would
you like my readers to know?
I would
like your readers to know how much authors appreciate sharing their work with
them. I’d love to hear from readers at www.ColleenQuinn.net
