Desperate, she grabs her son and moves across the country to get away from her abusive husband and to avoid her unforgiving father. Thrilled at getting the Tech assistant job at Knights Associates, not only will she be helping them solve cyber crimes but she'll be able to use their connections and resources to solve her own mystery. Who stole a week of her life? And will they return to steal the secret she is now protecting?

Graham and his partner Guy can't keep up with the demand. They are being flooded with requests at Knights Associates, where they offer a combined service of private investigator and that of solving cyber crimes. It appears that someone wants to get their attention, not only have they been hacked but Guy's family business, Caspian Winery, seems to be under attack as well. Hiring an assistant seems to be the answer but when Graham discovers she's been accessing their high-security accounts, he decides the cause of their predicament might be closer than he thought. Is their new assistant behind the problems they're having? If she's so innocent, why is someone after her?

Tarin and Graham discover that although they don't trust each other, they are forced to work together to solve several seemingly unrelated crimes that may lead to one disastrous conclusion. Can they figure it all out before Tarin's nightmare plays out? Before an eighty-year-old woman pays with her life? Or before Tarin learns a truth that may seal her fate, a truth that will keep her and Graham apart, a truth that neither one of them may be able to forgive or forget...

Interview:

What inspired you to write your first book? Life and the creative ideas that I had that I truly wanted to do something with. It's interesting as a writer because I don't think that in the beginning you ever truly believe you are going to really go anywhere with what you're writing. The first book I wrote was when I was nine, not that I did anything with it. The first book I wrote that I published was Captured Lies and there were a number of things that came together that inspired me to write it - I wondered if a plane crashed could someone survive? What if that someone was a kidnapped baby? How would that baby once grown up ever figure out her life?

Do you have a specific writing style? I write using everyday words that are easy to read and to understand and tell the story through a mix of dialogue and narrative with a lot of action. My stories tend to be fast-paced with a lot going on but everything is tied up by the end of the story.

How did you come up with the title? The title Deceitful Truths (Book 2)  actually came to me as I was writing Captured Lies, the first book in The Caspian Wine Series. So it changed things up for me to have the title first and then have to write the story to fit it.

Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp? First and foremost I want the reader to enjoy the journey of reading. I think there are several messages throughout my books that will have meaning for different people. I think the biggest message is to believe in yourself, you can do way more than you think you can.

How much of the book is realistic? The story in Deceitful Truths is very realistic. I truly would like to think that what I have written has never happened to another person but I'm quite sure parts of it have.
Are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?
No. I have totally made up the story but there are tidbits that are based on something I've heard, seen, read, watched, etc.

What books have most influenced your life most? There are quite a few that have but here are a few:
The Thomas Covenant Series by Stephen R. Donaldson
Biology of Belief by Bruce Lipton
You can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay
The Genie in your Genes by Church

If you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor?
I would have to say that Robert Ludlum has most inspired my writing and taught me a lot (not that he ever knew that) about how to plot out a story, adding in many characters, giving false leads...

What book are you reading now? Pride of Lions by Mark Iles

What would you like my readers to know?
That I truly appreciate hearing from each of them, I love to know what worked for them in my stories and what didn't. I am also an avid reader and am always looking for good suspense/thrillers to read.
