Interview:

1.       Where are you from?
East Texas
2.       Tell us your latest news?
I started a new series that’s set to release sometime this fall about an MC and their heroes.  I’ve fallen in love with them, and I cannot wait to share them with everybody!
3.       When and why did you begin writing?
I began writing in May of 2013.  I told my mother that I had ideas floating in my head about what I thought a book should be like, and she challenged me to write it down.  That’s how Boomtown, my first novel, came to be.
4.       When did you first consider yourself a writer?
I had a woman contact me.  She told me she was fighting cancer, and reading my books helped her keep a positive outlook on life, even when it was dark and didn’t look good.  She said that while reading my books, she’d laugh, which made the nurse’s smile to see someone getting chemo with a smile on their face.  That was truly the best feeling in the world to have her tell me that, and made me feel like I’ve made a difference.  That’s when it became real to me.
5.       What inspired you to write your first book?
I began writing because of one single book.  My mom told me to read her all-time favorite book...and I absolutely HATED it.  I detested it.  The ending was horrible, and I seriously wanted to throw my Kindle across the room after I’d read it.  I told her, ‘I could do better than that!’ and then set out to prove it to her.

6.       Do you have a specific writing style?
My mother tells me I write like I speak, so I would guess I do.  I do notice that all my characters tend to have that ‘Texas’ feel to their vocabularies.  For instance, ‘y’all,’ is what everyone says, regardless of where they are from!
7.       How did you come up with the title?
In the book, there an instant where Jack realizes he’s been given a gift.  A gift that most people will never see again after a life changing loss.  He makes a promise to himself to live each day like it’s the last day of his life.
8.       Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?
Mostly that life can change in an instant, and you should cherish it, because at any moment in time, that could all be gone.
9.       How much of the book is realistic?
Quite a bit, actually.  You’d be surprised at how much of it actually happened to me or someone I know.  My sister likes to say I plagiarize her life.  :)
10.   What would you like my readers to know?
That I love to hear from my readers and what they thought of the book.  Good or bad.  Whose book they’d like to see come next in the series.  These books are my babies, and I love to talk about them.  So come talk to me anytime.  I’d love to hear back from you.

She's been known as Jane for the last seven years.  Have you ever felt lost?  Well she knows lost.  She’s the definition of lost.  Cruelly beaten within an inch of her life?  Check.  No memory of anything that's happened since she woke up from that beating?  Check.  Losing a child, especially one she didn’t remember conceiving?  Check.  Jane has been sent away from her home of the past seven years by a hot older biker that tells her that her life’s in danger.  His solution is to send her to a place that’s the home of a man that she feels a connection with instantly.  A bone deep connection.

Him

Jacks spent the last seven years in a depression.  After the death of his young wife while on his first tour of duty in Afghanistan, he hasn't seen the appeal of participating in the world around him.  He’s lost everyone that’s ever meant anything to him.  His mom.  His dad.  His sister.  His wife.  Why make any more connections?  They’re just going to die.  The only things keeping him on this earth with boots firmly planted are his brothers who fought with him during hell on earth, and his best friend, the man that was there for his wife when he couldn't be.  The one who promised to keep her safe, and didn’t.  Then he loses one of those things, and Jack really has nothing left.  He comes home to an empty bed, and dreams of what used to be, caught up in a never ending nightmare that never ends.  Until she screams his name, that is.
