Flat Stanley Series by Jeff Brown Reviews

When Stanley Lambchop wakes up one morning, his brother, Arthur, is yelling. A bulletin board fell on Stanley during the night, and now he is only half an inch thick! Amazing things begin happening to him. Stanley gets rolled up, mailed, and flown like a kite. He even gets to help catch two dangerous art thieves. He may be flat, but he's a hero. This is the very first Flat Stanley adventure, updated with crisp new art. Supports the Common Core State Standards Age Level: 6 - 10 | Grade Level: 1 - 5

My Review:
I read this book with my niece. She read it in one sitting. I really liked that this book encourages neighborly actions and family. Stanley is flat, but that does not stop him from helping others. Especially when he needs to act like a flat portrait, or be mailed in an envelope to save money on airfare. His brother loves him, but gets a little jealous of all the attention he gets. Arthur realizes that Stanley is his brother and he tries to help him. I found myself giggling and talking to my niece about what we could do if we were flat. We also talked about what she could not do. We will be reading the whole series together! I liked that this book was updated as well. I am giving this book a 5/5. I was given a copy from Night Owl Reviews, however all opinions are my own.

Is Stanley flat again!? Stanley Lambchop has had his share of unusual adventures. But being flat was one thing he thought he was through with forever. Then one morning, he discovers he was wrong. Still, there is so much that a boy who is only one inch thick can do that a round person can’t. Maybe this time, all it will take is one amazing event for everything to finally make sense. Age Level: 6 - 10 | Grade Level: 2 - 5

My Review:
When we read this book, we were excited that Stanley was going to be flat again and that he would get into some weird situations. I laughed when he went to the doctor and the doctor told his parents that they should make sure the bulletin board is secure! The doctor is sure he knows what ailment Stanley has. It was funny to hear him explain this new ailment to the Lambchop's, when he only has Stanley's case to base his findings on. Stanley gets to do a lot of fun things in this book, like sail. I also liked that Stanley helps others in need. I am giving this book a 5/5. I was given a copy to review from Night Owl Reviews, however all opinions are my own.

A Far-out adventure! The President of the United States has chosen Stanley Lambchop and his family to become the first humans to fly in the Star Scout, a new top-secret spaceship. Stanley's most exciting adventure is about to begin. He'll meet the Queen of England, have a birthday party in outer space, and save a whole planet of aliens from danger. Oh, that Stanley! Age Level: 6 - 10 | Grade Level: 2 - 5

My Review:
By now Stanley is pretty famous for his good deeds and he is also somewhat of a celebrity. People get excited when they meet him and he has been in the paper. I liked that this book introduced kids to science fiction and that it was not scary. There are so many things in these books that help readers learn important information. I loved all the space info in this book, and my niece enjoyed reading about his birthday party. This was a very interesting read, even for me. I am giving this book a 5/5. I was given a copy to review from Night Owl Reviews, however all opinions are my own.

Disappearing act One morning, after a terrible storm, Stanley Lambchop is nowhere to be found. His family can hear him, and there is a lump under his covers, but no one can find him! Just where is that boy? Then they discover the truth -- Stanley is invisible! At first, Stanley is very busy. There's so much for an invisible boy to do. But will he stay that way forever? Age Level: 6 - 10 | Grade Level: 2 - 5

My Reviews:
Good News, Stanley is not flat! However now he is invisible. I enjoyed reading all the fun things that Stanley got to do, and how he had so much fun! I was really happy when he used his invisibility to help his brother. I also really like that Stanley is different then other kids, and is very caring of others. He is a great role model for kids. This book really shows how much love siblings share. I am giving this book a 5/5. I was given a copy to review from Night Owl Reviews, however all opinions are my own.

Flat Stanley is back to save the day in another exciting Worldwide Adventures chapter book, just in time to celebrate his fiftieth anniversary! This time, he explores Paris, France. And not only will kids love going on a fun adventure with Stanley, this eleventh installment of Jeff Brown's Worldwide Adventures series has fun, fascinating facts about Paris in the back of the book, and is perfect for common core state standards, like multicultural adventure, plot and character development story elements, and compare and contrast. Stanley Lambchop is headed to France to the most famous museum in Paris—the Louvre. Readers will experience the city of light, soar to the top of the Eiffel Tower, and solve a mystery when one of the most famous paintings in history is stolen. And when Stanley Lambchop is asked to help catch an art thief, he can't help but be excited! Posing as a painting in the Louvre on a wall across from the famous Mona Lisa?—c'est magnifique! However, Stanley soon grows bored—until he meets Etoile, an art student who shows him around Paris. But when Stanley goes back to the museum, he realizes that the Mona Lisa looks . . . different. It's been switched for a fake! Will Stanley be able to nab the thief before he or she strikes again? Supports the Common Core State Standards Age Level: 6 - 10 | Grade Level: 1 - 5

My Review:
This was the first worldwide adventure that I read with my niece. I LOVED all the landmarks that were in the book, and we drew some of them. The Paris facts in the back of the book are great for kids to learn. They are taught in a fun way too. The Mona Lisa is such a well known painting that I enjoyed reading about it being stolen. It was an interesting mystery. It was nice to have Stanley explore the city! This is a great book for kids that hate to read history books. It is a fun way to learn about different places while reading a great story. I am giving this book a 4.5/5. I was given a copy to review from Night Owl Reviews, however all opinions are my own.

A suspenseful and surprising showdown at Texas's historic Alamo will reveal all . . . including Stanley's courageous inner cowboy. Supports the Common Core State Standards Age Level: 6 - 10 | Grade Level: 1 - 5

My Review:
This was the last book I read with my niece and I have to admit that I do not remember that much about the Alamo. As I read through this book I remembered interesting facts and I laughed as well. Stanley is definitely not normal, however he is like most kids. He has trouble fitting in, is different, has annoying siblings (sometimes), and what boy does not was to be a cowboy at some point? This book had a few pages that confused me, maybe because I read into the plot too much. My niece read it smoothly and enjoyed it. I loved that as I read this book I felt as though I was in Texas and site seeing! I am giving this book a 3/5. I was given a copy to review from Night Owl Reviews, however all opinions are my own.

I highly recommend this series and I can not wait to read more!
