Savage Secrets by Cristin Harber & Maya Banks Interview

About Savage Secrets

When the past is impossible to ignore, love may be the only way to survive.

Caterina Cruz has no home. No loyalties. No objection to exacting torturous revenge. Her life’s mission is to destroy the terrorist who murdered her family. Then she steps into an elaborate game of charades alongside a Titan Group operative posing as an arms dealer—and her newlywed husband. The sexy distraction may be more than she can handle.

Attacked with a psychedelic drug weeks before, Rocco Savage is plagued with hallucinations that threaten his new rank as Titan’s second-in-command. No one knows and he wants to keep it that way. Throwing him further off his game, he now has a wife with her own secrets he can’t crack and an agenda he can’t control.

Their mission—an elaborate deception of heated glances and passionate kisses—spins out of control. With Rocco’s mind already compromised, can he keep his secret and his distance? And with Caterina’s tragic past controlling her every move, can she keep the con up long enough to secure her revenge? Or will both go down in flames?

Interview:
What books have most influenced your life most?

All of the books in Maya Banks’ KGI, Lora Leigh’s Elite Ops, and Lori Foster’s Men Who Walk The Line. Tough guy heroes. Love them all.

If you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor?

Maya Banks. I had an opportunity to chat with her for a while once and I cherish the advice she gave me. I even have a picture and of course I have to share it.

What book are you reading now?

I’m beta reading for Racquel Reck’s contemporary romance release (Razor’s Edge) this summer, and I’m about to start one of the girls on the Titan fan page (Tonya Brook) debut novel called Desire Had A Name. Also, I’m loving Sharon Hamilton’s latest SEAL book and just saw that Lori Foster’s Men Who Walk The Edge Of Danger series is in an ebook box set. Just one clicked that! I love those books!

Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?

That strikes me as funny because in my mind, I’m still a new author. I think Racquel Reck has something special, and I’m excited to see her debut, and NJ Layouni is a new author who has a Outlander-like trilogy. It’s not something I usually read, but I was hooked with what I’ve read so far.

What are your current projects?

Sweet Girl is available for pre-order now. It’s a new adult romance and is a prequel to a best-selling standalone romance about a cowboy sniper and a CIA operative. After that, I’m working on the next novel in the Titan series, Hart Attack, which follows Roman and Beth, who have been at odds and all over each other for a while now. They are just as hot as they are hysterical.

Name one entity that you feel supported you outside of family members.

My critique partners empower me. We write together, question plot and characters, and on release day, we party and promo together. They are inspiring and we talk about everything—from raising babies to writing business plans—we are a phenomenal team.

What would you like my readers to know?

I’m a stay at home mom first, a reader second. I love books with really strong women who fall in love with their equally kick butt alpha super heroes, and that’s what I love to write. I want readers to walk away from my books completely fulfilled after reading scorching hot scenes, really funny moments, and a happily ever after that makes you happy-sigh.
