Reagan Cassidy is settled in her life. She has a thriving interior design firm, an upscale condo, two cats, and a goldfish. As a favor to her uncle, she agrees to team up with his marine archeologist friend to validate and retrieve a nineteenth-century journal, reputedly that of a passenger aboard the doomed schooner Twelfth Sun. Finding a hunky twenty-five-year-old coming out of the shower in her hotel room wasn’t part of the deal, but it’s hard to complain…
Dr. Elijah Cross is cocky and he knows it. He enjoys trading barbs with the lovely Reagan. Barbs, and some innuendo. He can tell she’d rather get back home to her business than stick around for the extended treasure hunt they’ve been talked into, but he’s fine with the situation. At least, until the “clues” start getting personal.
Reagan finds Dr. Gorgeous is as skilled in matters of the heart as he is behind the lectern. Throw in a series of clues which mean more to Elijah than he’ll explain, several odd-ball competitors out to win the journal, a saboteur, and a lavish seaside mansion, and Reagan has enough trouble keeping her head straight, let alone her heart.
WARNING: Younger man, older woman, nautical riddles and romance.

Where are you from?
I live in Pennsylvania and set most of my novels there, or along
the eastern seaboard which is like a second home.
Tell us your latest news?
I’m here promoting TWELFTH SUN which I’m really excited about.
It’s a romantic mystery involving an older woman/sexy, brainy younger man, and
a treasure hunt. Setting it at a lavish seaside residence, makes it a fun
summer read.
I also just released a short novella, called SOLSTICE ISLAND, available on Amazon for $.99. It’s a
romantic adventure revolving around the search for a mythical sea beast. My
heroine hires a sexy charter boat captain to help her track down a creature
known as the Sea Goliath—it’s the same creature believed to be responsible for
the disappearance of his parents ten years earlier, when he was just a child.
I’ll also be releasing a full-length romantic
mystery in June called ECLIPSE LAKE. That one is set in a sleepy resort town
where the discovery of skeletal remains reopens a fifteen-year-old missing
person’s case. My hero—now a successful businessman with a criminal
past—becomes the prime suspect and my heroine gets tangled up in the resulting
web of buried secrets.
Grade school. I believe I was six when I penned my first story.
By the time I was eight, I was churning them out regularly.
When did you first consider yourself a writer?
I’ve been writing since I was a child, but the turning point came
when I finished my first full-length novel at fifteen. That told me I had the
dedication to pursue it beyond dabbling as a hobby.
What inspired you to write your first
book?
If I look back to that novel I wrote at fifteen, I had just
discovered the fantasy genre and wanted to attempt my own story. I still read
fantasy but my writing eventually swayed to romance, suspense and mysteries.
What would you like my readers to know?
I’d like to thank you for having me here, and
for showcasing TWELFTH SUN. I’m always delighted to connect with readers and
other authors. Information on all of my releases and WIPs can be found on my
blog From the Pen of
Mae Clair.
Also, for anyone who enjoys folklore and urban
legends, I do a weekly feature every Monday called Mythical Monday that takes a
look at a creature or tale from myth. Some recent posts included a look at the
Ghost Ship of Loch Aw, the Snallygaster, Springheel Jack and Elephant
Graveyards. I welcome new readers! J
