Book Description:

A gripping, blooddrenched saga about twin brothers, the men they love, and the enduring truth that true love never dies — no matter how many times you kill it.

Thierry d’Arjou has but one escape from the daily misery of his work at a medieval abattoir — Etienne de Balthas. But keeping their love a secret triggers a bloody chain of events that condemns Thierry to a monstrous immortality. Thierry quickly learns that to survive his timeless exile, he must hide his sensitive heart from the man who both eases and ensures his loneliness...his twin brother.

Shaped by the fists of a brutal father, Olivier d’Arjou cares for only two things: his own pleasure and his twin. But their sadistic path through centuries is littered with old rivals and new foes, and Olivier must fight for what is rightfully his – Thierry, made immortal just for him.

Excerpt
Out of the confines of the town, the night was warm, and the sound of cicadas heralded him. The moon and stars helped light the way as he focused on his step, timing each one carefully. Who knew what and whom he might find? When it came to his brother keeping secrets, Olivier couldnt help but want to kill something.

Breathe in, two, three, four.

Breathe out, two, three, four.

So it went, one measured step after another, one wall going up after another, blocking out his worry of who had seen them leave, anger over what Thierry was doing, jealousy over whom he was meeting.

Ahead, forest shadows swallowed his brother. Keeping his emotions under control was made even more difficult when he ran to catch up. A deep grunt galloped from his throat as Thierrys need and excitement burst through his blood. Too late, he clamped his hand over his mouth. Thierry was nearer to his lover than Olivier expected, and with each passing moment Thierrys desire bubbled up like thick molasses, coating his insides and dragging him down. Olivier stumbled, the gravel crunching beneath his feet, and his knee hit the ground. He hadnt felt anything like this before, not from Thierry.

Breathe in, two, three, four.

Perhaps it was his closeness. Among the trees, little light pierced the canopy. The darkness only made him focus more on the beacon of Thierrys lust-filled blood. It throbbed stronger now Olivier had caught up, and it pulled him deeper into the ancient wood. He tripped on roots, which seemed to grow around his feet. He bashed his shins on sharp rocks.

Breathe out, two, three, four.

He had to go on. The leaves whispered, beckoned, enticed him to come inside, to penetrate the dark places, to discover the source of his brothers pleasure.

Even the damn forest was against him.

Thierrys desire drenched him like a wall of scalding water. He put out a hand and scraped it over the ridged bark of a gnarled tree. He felt nothing, and it did little to distract him from his twins pleasure. He tried to fight it, but as it battered him and stirred his desire he lost his resolve. He closed his eyes, breathed in and succumbed to Thierrys ecstasy.

Feeling it was so much more vivid than seeing it. Yet he could do both, despite the darkness. Despite the distance. As though hed become his twin. Feeling his emotions, smelling, seeing, touching, tasting. All Thierrys.

All gloriously vivid. All horrifyingly real.

About the Author:

Daniel de Lorne writes mostly about the loves and trials of hot and sexy paranormal men – and creatures.

He grew up in Perth, Western Australia, and developed a fascination for the mythical and magical early on. Daniel wrote stories from a young age but it was high school biology class he remembers fondly as providing an excellent cover for writing stories that were filled with teen angst and fantastical creatures.

From there it was just a short jump to creative writing in university, where Daniel really indulged his love for the gothic, particularly the vampiric. And plenty of essays on the topic gave it all an air of respectability.

After university he used his skills for good. He wrote about wildlife conservation for eight years before taking a break to explore Canada with his partner. It was while in this great northern frontier that Escape Publishing accepted his first book, Beckoning Blood, for publication.
