Her recently departed mother's quilt is made from scraps of material Maybelle traces back to her mother's childhood, her grandmother's childhood and her own childhood. She tries to add one of Holden's stripes to it but the sewing is not going well and neither is her life. After receiving some harsh news, Maybelle's faith falters and she puts the quilt away and stops trusting God. But God is faithful---no matter what. And it'll take a group of neighborhood women armed with quilting needles to help Maybelle believe that.

My Review:
This was an empowering book about how women helped the war effort. I loved how Doris helped Maybelle learn how to sew. It reminded me of when my sister taught me how to sew. I could picture the quilt and I loved how it had scraps of clothes from loved ones. There were so many women that felt the same when when their husband's went off to war. The quilt's name was perfect! I cried at the end. This is another great addition to this great series. I am giving this book a 5/5. I was given a copy to review, however all opinions are my own.
